Oh yeah... I forgot to mention this is going to be my first no-sew project. I'm away at school and away from my sewing machine, so if it can't be done with online shopping or liquid thread/hand sewing, it's a no-go. I'm going to try and add what I can to the tube top to make it look stiffer and see if I can get those front seams somehow. I found the top for pretty cheap but I'm not sure how close that blue is.

i'm sure it's been posted, but looking through 900 pages of forum seems like a big task.
so i'm wondering if anyone has any ideas or links to where i could get gun holsters or his little fanny packs for Leon from Resident Evil 4. Any help would be much appreciated.
I'm planning to sew/thrift store the rest of the costume, and i can manage with the wig. its just those dang gun straps -_-

Leon uses a shoulder gun holster in RE4. Most airsoft shops should carry them, or online as well. I'm unsure if its leather or not, but I'm sure you could find those as well. Heres an example of one..

Alright, some of you know I've been collecting the new RE figures from NECA for sometime now and they are releasing set 1 from RE5 around April timeframe! It's only three figures and they will be:
Executioner
Sheva
Chris
Considering what they did with the RE4 line expect a few more sets worth of characters and cannon fodder to be released.
With the new Chris Redfield figure I'll probably buy two. One for display and the other as a guide for the new costume.

Leon's shoulder holster is leather, but it also does not exist in real life. To make it look just like the one he uses in the game, you would have to either make it from scratch or modify an existing leather shoulder holster.

I wanted to get your opinions on this...so Otakon has a highly strict prop weapons policy where the prop can contain no moving parts and must have a orange tip to it. I am considering painting a rubber gun that is used during disarming martial arts practice, and adding details myself. Any other ideas? You guys have had more experience with this than I have, since this will be my first con with a cosplay that requires a gun prop.

I honestly can't think of anything other than that or perhaps a wooden replica gun. The rubber gun would probably be the safest seeing as it can't possibly do any harm. If you get a wooden gun, make sure its non-moving or your going to get in trouble. Both can be painted or if you search hard enough, bought to look like real guns so. I'll say go for it!
But perhaps e-mailing an admin on the subject can clarify any unresolved questions.

Very true on the wooden replica, TheLanWarrior got in trouble for his replica grenade launcher because one tiny part moved, but it was still wooden too. I know me and rishingpheonix, my fiance, got in trouble the last day of the con of Otakon for our guns and they didn't even have triggers =[
A rubber gun would work well, or wooden may work, only if it has NO moving parts. I dunno, that's just my opinions.

One thing you can do is take a cheap airsoft spring gun - way cheaper than a rubber weapon (unless you know of cheap ones that I don't) and take it apart with a screwdriver. Simply use some rubber cement on the inner moving parts and close it back up so that none of the parts can move (trigger, slide, and hammer should be all you have to worry about on a spring gun) and voila! Cheap, good looking prop!
Also, I'm thinking of cosplaying S.T.A.R.S. Wesker, cuz as it turns out I already own 90% of what I need to accurately do it.

What do you guys think?

I want to cosplay RE5 Wesker so bad, but I don't have the slightest clue what kind of material his outfit is made of. No one else does, either, apparently.
