This thread has some really good information. Try searching the Anime costume forums for "inuyasha" or "kimono pattern" and go from there?

The pants are a version of hakama, so you can search that, too. Try anime costumes, general costumes, newbie forum.... kimono and hakama patterns have been posted quite often. Or, you can search google - that's where most people get their pattern sites from, anyway. ^^

Well, historically they didn't cut holes in the fabric. They sewed on retangular swatches of fabric to pass the string through. I've even seen this done in clothing on japanese films like Gojoe where the strings on the garments are very prevalent.
Commissions are limited at this time, however I am open for possible requests.

I couldn't find anything close to traditional japanese hakama soI used a haram pants pattern for my Inuyasha's pants instead. It worked out well I think....

http://www.japanesekimono.com/kimono_fabric.htm This a very good site on how to put together a kimono. They also have a small section on Hamaka pants (basically a brief history,) but no good directions on how to make them.

Hakama are generally very easy to make but I have no idea why every one messes up on them. COME ON PEOPLE IT'S LIKE A 10 STEP PROCESS! >_<

Gomen-nasai, minna-san. Unfortunately, my computer crashed and I don't have my original pattern any more. But this site, (although it's expalined a little weird) has a good example. I'll have to look into finding the old site. I know I linked to it on a very early post.
