I feel like such a n00b

Ok, I'm familiar with J-Pop, not too familiar though, but I have no idea what J-Rock is. Is it Japanese Rock and why do expos now have J-Rock competitions? What do you do in them?
[edit] if J-Rock is a performance thing then look forward to me playing Haushinka from Green Day [/edit]

Sorry for the question, just kinda been out of the loop for a while.

"jrock" is a name for any Japanese rock music. ^^;

cons have jrock competitions and events because sooo many people who attend cons like jrock, and people have asked for them.

the only jrock-themed competitions I have seen at cons are cosplay ones. jrock is very popular to cosplay because of the genre known as "visual kei" where the band members dress up in costumes.

jrock itself is obviously preformance oriented since ... well, it's music, and bands and musicians do hold concerts and tv spots, ect ect. I haven't seen anything like a battle of the bands at a con before, but it would be interesting. some small bands have appeared at a few cons to play.
You are a nerd. Deal with it.

And yes, this means you.
