I r teh n00b

Yeah I'll be honest here, this only came to my attention because I live in St. Catharines, so I figured I'd come out and try something new. I've never been to a convention before, and my anime-ness consists of me and a 2 people talking about the week's episode of whatever we're watching. What kind of stuff can I expect from a convention? And if I do decide to cosplay, what preparations/expectations should I make?
