MugenH says Hi!

Heya All,

I'm new to the forums, but not new to Cosplay. I was Dilandau at AX this year (Dilly-chan), and am very excited to see all of the amazing work everyone's doing.

I only have 3 costumes (Haruka, Armitage and my new Dilly) and I don't have a website (yet?) but I'm still looking forward to being part of all this! Everyone is so talented!

Toodle-pip,
MugenH

Hi and welcome MugenH.
Would mind tell if this "H" is for hentai or not?

ACK!

H as in Hentai? H as in Ecchi? No, actually, the name comes from my email addy and former nickame: MugenHaruka.

You'll notice M u g e n H a r u k a is a lot of letters, so eventually it was just abbriviated to MugenH.

Does that clear things up?

Hey Thanks!

I tried my best on the costume. Unfortunately, it may be my last original for a while; I don't know much about sewing (there's a year's worth of trial and error on Dilly!), and I don't have the time to take a class on costume-making ~ my next few months are looking pretty busy, so I may go out for a commission.

If anyone knows of a good place to commission costumes ... and I'm talking *detail* and *accuracy,* then please let me know. I'd trust cosplay.com people over some random website any day.

So we WERE the Dilandau. =)

Hi and again, I loved your costume! Not only was it impressive, you /looked/ like Dilandau in it. I was suprised when I saw a shot of you with the opened coat... you made it all in one piece? Maybe I should have done that too, then I would not have to hike up the "skirt" every now and then. ^__^;;;;;

Tell me when you're wearing Dilly again and I will come follow you around... just don't slap me. LOL

Yeah, I made it all in one piece. A few reasons.

One: Inexperience. ^^" As I've said before, I'm *learning* my way through this, and my attempts at the separate skirt were coming up short. I couldn't get the material to stand the way I wanted to, and it hung a little strange, and I also didn't like the way the pvc sometimes buckled in the back.
Also: Heat. Summer Cosplaying without being able to unzip that jacket all the way? No thanks.
Reason Three: I actually started the Dilly project because I wanted to make a regular jacket based on the style of his armor -- and I wanted a pattern that was easily transferable to a regular coat. So now, I'm using the pattern to make a Fall jacket for myself.

And as far as following me around ... oooh, sounds sweet. I'll hold you to that! Although I don't know if I'll be able to resist a certain amount of slapping. ^_-

Welcome to the forums! *gives Pocky* I saw several Dilandaus at AX, but I think I know which was you. I know it was nice, anyways, cause all of them were, lol.

You are SMART. I almost fainted last year as Miguel (Baltimore summer >__<).

> So now, I'm using the pattern to make a Fall jacket for myself.

Oh you should take a picture of that!

> Although I don't know if I'll be able to resist a certain amount of slapping. ^_-

Just remember, that I know, there is ONE Dragonslayer on the con circuit and manymany Dilandaus. So there are a lot of employment opportunities. ^_-

And Dilandau never slaps Miguel in the show. Everybody else gets it, but not Miguel! LOL

Seriously it would be fun to cosplay together.

Ack! Baltimore Summer = Humid, ne? At least it's a Dry Heat in LA.

Are there any conventions in New Orleans? My god. I don't think Felicia would be able to cosplay there.

Someone should invent a fabric that separates slow moving molecules from fast ones so that it's always cool inside an outfit. A selectable filter fabric ... Cosplayer Scientists, get to work!

>> So now, I'm using the pattern to make a Fall jacket for myself.

> Oh you should take a picture of that!

I'll post it up when it's finished. I'm trying to get the stitching to be suggestive of the buckle lines without it being an awkward coat. Something that an Anime Fan would say, "That looks a little like Dillandau's jacket," but someone out of the loop wouldn't say, "Why is she in costume?"

Yes, but ... I don't know if *I'd* want to be employed by some of the other Dilandaus ... ^_-

Ahem. Not because they're not great costumes. Mine is just newer. ^^

Right.

>And Dilandau never slaps Miguel in the show. Everybody else gets it, but not Miguel! LOL

Just because we don't see Miguel's slapping doesn't mean it didn't happen!

But, in the end, I must remain true to the show.
So ... no slapping for Miguel.

(Unless some new episodes come out ...)

>Seriously it would be fun to cosplay together.

It may be a while. I'm not going to anything until Yaoi con, I don't think. And after that? Who knows ...

But yes, I'll drop you a line when Dilandau is hiring. ^_-
