Question Fake contacts? (specifically for Rikku)

This is kinda of a question for anyone who has purchased contact lenses for their costumes (and anyone looking for info on them). I am looking for swirly green contacts for a Rikku costume that I am making, but I'm not sure about where to find reliable contacts for a decent price.

It would be really spiffy if I could find a pair for under 50 at least. Lemme know what you guys think or where you bought your lenses, I'd like to know! And don't forget to inlude pics! ^_^

Thanks so much, guys!

I don't think they make swirly green contacts. If you wanted those, you'd probably have to get them custom made. Custom contacts cost a pretty penny, though.

I bought some theatrical contacts for $60 at lensquest.com.

I went to the place where I get my glasses and I pretended to be interested in ordering some contacts and then asked for free samples. It actually worked, too. They were bright green and when I wore them people would actually stop me and ask if they were real. I don't have any pictures though =/

Which Rikku version are you doing, X-2? I would love to do FFX Rikku but my short black hair wouldn't work out and I am horrible at styling wigs.

Thanks enishi, I'll check it out.

Sakura - That's so cool! Maybe I'll pay a visit Empire Vision. I'm suddenly interested in sampling some contact lenses...
Heh. Yes, I'm working on a FX-2 Rikku. Luckily, I have blond hair and I think I will straighten it, put it in a pony tail on top of my head and add extensions. Wish me luck X_X

don't buy contacts over the web, or from anyone other than an optometrist. They are the only eyes you have. Take care of them.

Aeris your eyes are beautiful *_* I wish mine were that pretty. I'm stuck with a weird grey mixture.

Heya!!! ^_^

I'm doing FFX-2 Rikku too! ( NEARLY HAVE DONE! *SPAZZ* ) If ye go to my gallery thing you can see my ghetto Rikku hairstyle. ^^;; I've got the skirt done and one arm 'tubule' XD and a goodgood friend picked up the perfect scarf for me to dye ^_^

Anyways, contacts...I know you can get the black and white swirly ones...you could /possibly/ get them ordered in another colour...I know one Rikku cosplayer ( Kit, i think ) had green swirly ones...

However, after working at wal-mart beside the vision center, I've noticed that those kind of contacts are $99 cdn. X_x I'd really like to get a pair too though, but like Aeris said, I wouldn't trust ordering them of the net, though I /am/ tempted, I admit.

But, good luck to you! ^-^ N I am going to add you to my ever-so-spiffy buddy list so we can keep in touch about our costumes. ^__^

Luv

Not exactly, but close http://store5.yimg.com/I/villagestre..._1721_24766421

Not the right color but a more dramatic effect http://store.yahoo.com/villagestreet...cwhitspir.html

Of course, this goes against the whole buying of the internet thing. ^_^;

Those second ones, the Black and white ones are the ones Kit had, I think...but hers were green...Hmm...I'm really gonna hafta e-mail hers about those...instead of just talking about them. ^^;;

but yeah, those are the kind i'd say to go for, not the top kind, since theyre barely visible and that IS what we want, for them to be noticed. ^-^

again referring back to the black and white ones, you don't HAVE to get them off the internet. ^^ those are the regular 'costume eyes' or whatever and theyre available at most optometrists and wal-marts. ^-^

9MM while pricey can do anything you need them to do. And they are FDA approved as well. My friend has ordered at least 4 pairs of contacts from them and has never had an issue quality wise or medically.

*.* Yea, i was gonna post about 9mm site to get your Rikku contacts. My friend Kat was the one that custom ordered from 9mm the Rikku contacts, which as you can see cost her a pretty penny. She tells me they are great and they are a real attention getter! : ) It's funny how i guess they liked her custom ordr so much they decided to make it one of their lenses on the site! : )
The only problem with these are that they couldn't make it spiral so instead it'sa bullseye pattern. if you go here:

Just look at the one that first colum third row. The Jade pair! : )
Blarg 250 dollars.... *.*

Here's a pic of Kat in her Rikku costume and the contacts:
