The more I look at TB cosplay the more I want to cry. So many I want to do, yet so little money and time. Now that I've finally got my Empire Radu up to a point where I'm happy with it. I want to cosplay Dietrich, or Sister Paula, or Cain, or... someone just shot me please :P

well, now I know seth is a LOT of work, so everyone else who´s doing seth, keep on working! It´s worth the trouble

Throwing this question out to everyone....I'm ready to buy some fabric for my Red Mars Project Lilith....but what to use....the issue is with the fact that the artbook pic is not in color. So....my Lilith boots are white leather...so slightly off-white. I was thinking of making all the leather parts the same off-white, while having the rest of the Uniform (minus the armor, of course) be a more clean white. The other issue is what fabric to use. I'm a cotton twill kind of person (my Noelle was made with this), but something heavier or more "space-ish" might be better. I'm thinking of the kind of material that ski jackets and other "snow weather" coats are made out of. Just brainstorming here. I tried contacting the pair of cosplayers that did the artbook RM Cain and Abel, but they don't have PM. HELP!!!!

The red mars uniform looks like synthetic leather to me, maybe you can find a fabric which isn´t "shiny"

...for those of you making the priestly looking outfits, how are you holding the front panels together? >.> Like on Cain and Abel and Tres, there's just a line down the front- no buttons, no lacing, and it doesn't look like they overlap each other. Maybe velcro straps on the inside?

synthetic somethign yes, but um I'm going for a vote on the poliester or twill side. ~~~***~My opinon only flamers will be eaten***~~~ costumes should look accurate but be pratical and wearable.
though onthe upside Shokora if you used vinal theonly cons you could go to are the colder ones like. oh .. say... Colorado!

Vasher.... you just... wow. Simply admazing! I Love it! never thought funfoam coudl make such beautiful armor. brilliance!

As for the priestly robes I use used a zipper and sewed it so it was invisible once zipped up. that would start form the colar boen and down. for the neck I used dress hooks to keep ti clsoed it was a little mor comfortable that way.

In addition, my big brother somewhat agreed to do Red Mars Abel for my Cain!!! (We're right about the same height. People think we're twins ^_^) Which will happen... Eventually...
I'll be using a bottomweight cotton or something similar with a tight weave for the body. I've made more than enough synthetic leather/vinyl/pvc jackets/coats to realize that these just wouldn't sit right in any non-cloth material. (Not even taking into account how bloody hot it gets XD)

Look at the way they fold and bunch under the belt and the way Cain's gathers above the belt. This couldn't be achieved with pleather. The neck would be way too stiff and erect. In addition, for how tight the sleeves are, you probably wouldn't be able to move much at all unless you used a fairly high quality stretch pleather (and then you start heading into the $30/yard range). And even then it still wouldn't drape correctly.

So basically, medium/heavy cloth or real leather (soft calf or sheep leather) would work best.

I've been busy having to paint a house, so I haven't been able to go to the fabric store..I have been getting paid for painting though. XD; I don't think I'll be able to get started on much of anything until after Anime Weekend Atlanta..since I have to study to get my learner's permit, study up for my ACTs, and I think I'm starting school the week after next. ...-dies- Hopefully, I'll get -something- done soon though...

Edit: ..Ari-chan, that wig is AMAZING. o________o

can't wait to see your Deitrich, phantom. anyway, I finished my seth just in time for the convention. It needs a little bit more tweaking but its wearable enough. would like to mahe her tuning forks too but I ran out of time.
