Okay, I've been scrambling to get everything ready for ACEN (which is only little more than a month away), and I have NO IDEA how to do the breastplate or anything like that for his outfit. I currently have his tail/boa/fluffy thing and the kimono itself taken care of, but the armour is giving me fits. I have the wig as well... or I will when I get $60 saved up. Does anyone have any patterns or suggestions for what I can do to get this taken care of? I have no idea how to do the spiky things or the black and red armour.

hmmm for the armor i can lend a hand. thanks to these guys all of the kinks have been worked out of my design

i ran material tests in my basement on dozens of materials, and fiberglass over a THIN wooden frame produced the best results in my oppenion, but thats just me
my final set is almost finished, just been to sick to work on it recently.
i wore my prototype armor up to katsucon and won judges choice with it.
so there has to be something to my theory it wasnt even the finished set

R1kku here likes her plastic armor, and that may be an option for you as well. i cant help you with the plastic stuff though. the last set of plastic armor i made was about a year ago, and that was not costume armor by any means.

hah, i finished my outfit in 3 days LMAO so yeah... you can do it if your insane
course i had to attach some things at katsucon...
but i still managed to pull it off...

didnt sleep the night before the con, and slept the entire trip up there.

Yea and it is prob. not the most confortabel thing either I have never seen her go all day with Shessomaru on but it is your choice

Hehe, my armor is comfortable, but I lack the ability to sit; I can kneel down though. I dont mind it so much, I can go at the most about 8 hours in the costume (used to work retail so I know what its like standing constantly) as long as Im not outside in the heat My original Sesshy was made with materials suitable for the cold months, so I went and made a new one =)
I wouldnt want to wear it all day anyways, Ive got other costumes to wear XD I have made some slight adjustments to the armor since my last IL con so it is a little better, but now that Ive lost weight, the armor slips down too far now; Id hate to put a harness system on it but I must.

Best suggestions for the armor, go with something you would feel comfortable working with and can afford. If your not familiar with fiberglass or plastics, dont work with them.And if you want to be able to sit down in your costume, go with something that is really flexible; the only 2 things I can think of are vinyl and craft foam; Ive seen a really good Sessho with craft foam armor. As for patterns, do a search for 'kendo armor', since his resembles that. And dont for get screenshots, pictures, whatever you can find of Sesshomaru. Reference is key =)

And give yourself some time; 3 days for a Sessho is insane! I dont know how Niko even managed to survive at the con, Id lose my mind,lol.

Heh, i've done worse. If anyone's seen the anime Trigun, I went as legato. Kept on stabbin' peoplez, so I had to put the styrofoam ballzorz on it.

I'm currently attempting to find cheap polysterene plastic in my area, but the closest place they have it around here is over an hour away. >.< Gah...
