Arm pit hair+guys+cosplay=?

I'm just curious as to what people's views are pertaining to armpit hair on male cosplayers. I'm really not sure if its ok for guys to shave their armpit hair....or anything. I personally have given that area a little trim when wearing my Heero.

Discussion?

IMO, you don't have to shave it off, but tidiness is appreciated. i.e. if you have bushy bits sticking out of your pits when your arms are down, trim it. :P It isn't weird to shave it, though, and might be more appropriate depending on the character (such as teenage boys). But it isn't a make or break aspect of a costume ^^;

Heh heh. Well, if your cosplay is a macho character, then flaunt that fur! Aside from hentai and some weird comedies, I don't think I've ever seen body hair in anime, so you might take that to mean that anime characters don't have body hair at all! (Would that mean you're out-of-costume if you're hairy? Hmmm.) Personally, I wouldn't want my armpit hair showing up in my cosplay photos, so I would get rid of it if I were gonna do any poses that compromised my decency. Plus it looks cleaner, in my opinion. But it comes down to what you're comfortable with.

P.S. It'll probably get you more fangirls too. Yay!

Since you never see it on anime guys unless they're macho creepy weirdos, I'd say shave or at least trim it. I find the prescence of armpit hair unattractive on either gender so I'd say shave it anyway, but... XD;

I pretty much agree with kiwi's post. @_@;

Is it even ok for guys to shave their armpits?
Its not a very common thing to do...
Does it make it grow back all prickly-er

It really isn't normal for a guy to completely shave his armpit hair, but I do trim mine from time to time so it looks 'nice.' That's all you can really do with it.

I've seen plenty of guys who shave their pits (XD). I actually prefer that on guys... but anyways. If nothing else, it's a hygiene matter. The hair looks gross, it traps odors, and honesty... how the hell do you effectively put deodorant on with a bush growing there? If your pit hair is sparse to begin with it's one thing, but having a tangly mass of... stink... fibers... *gag* O_o.

*Blinks*

What are you planning to cosplay Fist of the North Star? I mean, seriously, in the spectrum of costumes that exist to be cosplayed, only a fraction lack sleeves, because the characters designers are Japanese and Japan is at best a mild country.

...

I wouldn't, unless it was for a cosplay, a couple or group cosplay, for or including someone I was involved with. Thus, I wouldn't.

Trimming is good. As long as your armpit hair isn't about to jump out and attack anyone, I'd say that you're doing ok.

However, I wouldn't recommend shaving it all off. Personally, I find guys minus the armpit hair fairly spooky, in an overly-groomed way. I like boys to have a little body hair. It's masculine. And cute.

Just not so much that if you lift your arm the reaction is "BANG! ARMPIT!". It should be more of a "Oh. Armpit." type of deal.

Did that make any sense at all?

As long as it's not out of control or something, like bumping other people as you walk down the hallways, then just giving it a trim is fine. XD

I am a girl. >> Just so you know it's coming from a girl's perspective.

Why would it be not okay for guys to shave their armpits? o_o; The same thing happens as with girls, and you don't hear girls complaining about how annoying it is. ^_^;

If I were you I'd shave it, but then again, I'm female, so maybe my opinion doesn't count. But I'd say definitely trim it a bit at least... is it just me or does everyone else feel wiered and giggly discussing this?

Oh, and YYH ROCKS! *happy dance*

armpit...*giggle giggle*
