Hey all,

I'm looking to recruit some Firefly/Serenity Cosplayers to march in the Saturday Morning parade on behalf of the SEBC (SouthEastern Browncoats).

Screen accurate costumes and "inspired-from" costumes are all welcome. And no ducking out due to "I'm going to be up all night Friday". I'll probably only have 2 hours of sleep before the morning parade muster

Don't forget we also need any cosplayers to join our costume contest. At the moment it is slated to be during our Shindig on Friday night - but the date/time may change!

More than a month left to Dragon-Con and Browncoats seem to be coming out of the wood work. We now have 26 confirmed marchers. Here's the latest confirmed count of actual costumes.:

Due to overwhelming response and the fact it won't clash with the SEBC Fan table's booth, Banner #2 is the one I will shop to various sign shops for printing.

Well folks, we're less than a month to Dragon-Con. I hope every is working on their

costume and/or has it done already. (I'm in the former category).

* There was a slight miscommunication with the parade staff due to a hard-drive crash on their end. That issue has been resolved, and the Browncoats are confirmed as registered.

* Due to overwhelming preference, we will be going with banner design #2 (

The banner will be 2 feet tall and 8 feet long in order to keep the ratio of that graphic.

* Times and palces. The group will gather between 8:45am and 8:55am by the HYATT Bar

Saturday morning. We will travel as a group to the muster point: Woodruff Park

(Peachtree and Auburn - about 4 blocks south of the Hyatt) between 9-9:30 AM on Saturday morning, 9/2. If you can't make the intial meet-up point, be sure to hurry up to Woodruff park before the parade starts.

* The best news so far is we beat my original goal of 30 confirmed marchers. We are at 32 at the moment. The costume break down is as follows:

Hey, all. It looks like the Dragon-Con Firefly Shindig got moved from a track room (150-200 peope capacity) to the ballroom that was used to be used for Registration in the Marriot (1000 capacity). So there's an all call for volunteers and donations.

Some news you might be interested in. With the changes brought upon the Firefly Shindig Friday night, the costume contest will no longer be part of the shindig. The costume contest will instead be held at 8:30pm Friday (Sept 2nd) in the Marriot at the SEBC Fantable. The judging will consist of Reannaremick and myself.

Their will be two divisions "Screen Accurate" and "Original Designs". The grand prize for each category will be a 1ft x 1ft Browncoat Flag. A third flag will be awarded to a "Fan Favorite". Runner-up prizes are being discussed though those are contingent on enough competitors showing up.

The contest should be over and give you more than enough time to get to the Shindig that starts at 11:30.
Costumes are not required for the Shindig, but are encouraged. Recruiting costumers at the Shindig for the parade is also highly encouraged.

Don't forget the muster for the Parade group is between 8:45am and 8:55am by the Hyatt Bar area / by the escalators. Immediatly following the parade, Cosplay.com will be hosting a FREE open photoshoot which I encourage all participants to attend.

Also, Friday August 26, I will annouce the two highest donors, from the parade group, to the SEBC. Those two souls will have the choice to either help carry the parade banner or the large Browncoat Flag that is being donated to us. I will be bringing a paint pen; all parade participants will immortalize themselves by signing the back of the banner.

I will be happy to take pictures of all the Firely participants if you'd like a seperate photoshoot. But please remember that FIRST will come the big cosplay.com group photoshoot that is intended for those who are members of cosplay.com to gather together in costume for a group photoshoot. Even if those participating in the Firely photoshoot are not cosplay.com members, they are welcome to join in for the cosplay.com gathering. I do encourage you to join us, but please make sure you have a costume for the c.com gathering. Afterwards, once everyone is done taking the big group photo, then whoever is in charge of the Firefly group, if you kindly gather all the Firefly cosplayers into a seperate group, we can take pictures of the Firefly group when you get into formation. Depending on the time I have after that will determine if I can take solo shots or not. See you there!
