Frankly, no. A comb works better with wigs, but if you use a BRUSH it tears out the fibers quickly. I suggest using a comb instead, rather more time consuming, but better for the wig.

If your wig is doing an excessive amount of shedding, then it's a manufacturer error. The wefts binding the hair together were not made secure enough. If you're only losing a few fibers during brushing (depending on length) that's normal, and not something to worry about. There are litterally thousands of hairs on that wig.

In the end, if you're still worried, lift the layers of your wig up one at a time and apply one of the glue-like materials that people use to style wigs (I'd personally lump on some hair cement, by beyond the zone) let it dry, then move to the next layer. This will help keep the fibers from being able to slip out of the wefts.

You can't stop shedding completely but like previous posts, use a comb. Then the best way to comb it is like really tangley normal hair: Start at the bottom and lightly comb down. Running the handle of the brush through the hair can help get rid of a lot of knots without pulling to much. Just comb gently and it will minimize hair shedding.

Don't worry I know how you feel. I have the same problem, I get heart attacks everytime I see a hair fall out. @@ This is probably why I try to use my real hair as much as possible (though I still freak when i lose real hair too)

o nonono! its a very good wig condidering how much i paid for it (like $30) its just that i altered my former wig, and apperently didnt do a very good job, so all thought the convention, large chunks of hair were litterally falling out. so like i said, im very paranoid.
i got the wig at malabars costume shop in toronto. theyre very good, in my books.
