No dance at CNAnime?
Is there seriously no nighttime J-Pop dance at CNAnime?
If anyone knows of anything pertaining to this, please post

I think there was one at AN a few years ago, but i've never gone to the dances, so i really can't say for sure.
There is a Halloween one though (though i've never gone to that either)

I remember posting something about this in another thread somewhere, but since I don't remember where, I'll post it again. There has never been a dance at CN, and there never will be. Since CN is held in a convention center, and not a hotel, there comes a time at night when the convention center HAS to shut down, and therefore a dance at the con center would either have to start really early and end really early (like 9 or 10pm). The other option would be to find a venue outside of the convention center to hold a dance, but that requires renting a completely different space, providing security and other people to staff and supervise the event. And lets be honest, if this is only aimed at the Anime attendees, then that's only 1/5th (theoretically) of the entire expo, and Hobbystar has never in the past shown that they love us that much. We're the only ones who have to buy a weekend pass if we only want to come for one day. They see us as easy money, and a dance is far to much effort to put out, just for us alone. Be content with the AN dances held throughout the year, because (at the moment, at least) they're the only ones we're going to get.

Haha, it's like, right in the title of this thread, and this thread is in the CN forum (I'm not THAT stupid, thanks )Lainey told him pretty clear that there wouldn't be one at CN though, so I told him there was one at AN. Giving him another "dance" option. You might have just misunderstood it's all good ![]() Quote:
I've had friends who aren't HUGE fans, who still like to go to CN who have gotten them in the past. I personally go the whole weekend though so, I've never actually bought one myself. Cheers! ![]()

It makes sense, but that doesn't make it any less dissapointing.
Thanks for the info

Though there is no dance at CN, there is anime all night, which is exactly what it sounds like (sometimes they hold karaoke there too). It's held at the Strathcona hotel once the convention is over on Saturday. Not exactly a dance but it's the best night entertainment your gonna get from CN.

TribalButterfly, I never said you were stupid. The way you worded it didn't make it very clear to me that you were giving him other options.

Wow and here I though there was a dance. Anyway, this may be off topic, but i like to make suggestion.
Since there's no dance after the masquerade, how about we have a huge groupshot [something like a cosplay.com groupshot] after the masquerade? Welll its just something that I though off and was wondering what everyone thinks of the idea? Well its just a though and now back to the topic. Hum...so no dance at CN? Dam and here I though the ALL Night was the dance. |

NO DANCE, PLZKTHX -_-;
There are ENOUGH dances as it is (halloween, valentine's, anime north, yadda yadda). If you wanna dance more, go to a club :P There is a "huge group shot" every year at CNX. Just hang around the lobby on Saturday at around noon. It's hard to miss.

I go to the clubs nearly every weekend. And guess what? They don't play J-Pop. Imagine that. Until they do I like con dances since the music is more interesting. And the fact that nearly no one can dance and that's kind of funny. Besides the Halloween and Valentine dances are kinda far from me just for a dance.

*L* Then why don't you organize some? You seem to have so much initiative in wanting to start your own MASQs, why don't you start up some JPOP dances outside of cons?
