First day is almost over. Thoughts/comments/stories?

How is it so far? I'm heading up tomorrow, so let me know what to expect.

I hope everyone is enjoying CNanime! It kicked major arse last year, so i am assuming its just as good. I sadly could not make it to CNanime. Ive been in Italy since July 23rd and im returning home the 1st of september. Although i am having a blast in Italy. At the train station in Milano I seen three gothic lolitas! That made my day.^^

I wasn't excited about CN last night.
But then this morning, the excitement grew.

I finally made up my mind to get the deluxe pass & saved $9.
(No Production IG panel for me on Sat, my 1st time not getting an anime pass.)

Today was great! I snapped some good photos of cosplayers. Got Tim Russ & Kenny Baker pictures. I was also the 3rd one to get a sketch at Team Udon's booth. A staff from Bungie came and he said there is no delay for the Xbox360 wireless controller.

Many awesome cosplayers today. The line up is long but not too bad. I ate a hotdog while waiting.

The con was a little hectic and I unfortunately STILL dont' know when certaing guests will be signing autographs (I didn't see any sign indicating when; I'll take a closer look tomorrow).

Did anyone get harrassed by a trio of people (two males, one female) with a garden gnome and a video camera? They were making very rude and inappropriate comments about many female cosplayers while video taping them or, so I'm told, insisting that people take pictures with their gnome. When I told them that harassment is impolite and unacceptable, they became increasingly rude. In response to being discouraged to objecify women in such a manner, I was told that I was jealous because I "wasn't getting any" and that I was "doing a good job [of objectifying women] myself." I reported them to security and these individuals have been given a "stern warning". I'm happy with Hobbystar's response in this case, but I just want to tell everyone here that if you witness or are involved in an incident like this, please, PLEASE tell someone. While one would hope that ignoring such behaviour would work, it just allows people like this to carry on at the expense of others. By the way, if someone video tapes you and you tell them to turn off the camera or not film you, they must stop (otherwise they're violating your privacy), so don't be afraid to speak up.

I'm normally a very quiet, shy person, but I don't believe that anyone here is paying to attend an event where they'll be harrassed by fellow attendees. We've all dealt with a creepy fanboy/girl at one point or another, but sometimes a line has to be drawn.

Sorry, I don't mean to be a downer (and the convention so far has been pretty good), but I want everyone to enjoy a harrassment-free convention. =)

There was some guy who wanted to 'interview' me in my costume. I told him no because I don't want someone taking what I say and cutting it up to make me look like a freak on the Comedy Network. Beware of this guy. I ran into him in Artist's Alley.

Otherwise, it was pretty good. It seemed much larger this year, even though there wasn't much in the way of panels that interested me. But that's only my opinion on it. I'm not much into sci-fi or comics, so it limited things for me to do.

I saw Kevin Sorbo, though. Hercules...*drooool*

EDIT: Of course, it dawns on me NOW that I should have asked him for identification to see if he was legit. It was something in his tone I didn't trust, though. Oh, well. I'm not big on being interviewed, anyway.

I was disappointed with the dealers room this year, and the lack of Japanese merchendise. I know there's lots of comics/horror/etc stuff, but all the anime stuff was crap as US released manga and dvds- stuff you can buy anywhere.

It's probably too late for a warning now, but there is a parking lot thats kitty-corner from the con center that told us $15 for the weekend, and then wanted $20 more, or they were gonna tow our car. We ended up having to give them $10, and moving our car anyways, because they would not own up to THEIR EMPLOYEES mistake. So BEWARE of that lot.

Otherwise, I had a fun time, and I wish I could go Sunday. Have fun!

i found parking for 5 dollars right across the convention center.
i was really impressed with the masq this year.. because i actaully got to sit and watch in a good seat kudos. the dealers room set up was indeed different, and i agree with the lack of unique merchandise when it came to anime.. but i like how the dealers room isn't the main focus this year.. and taht it is more spread out
