Oshawa Anime Club?
I've just been wondering recently if there is any Anime/Cosplay clubs in Oshawa. I don't really know many people in the area and of those, even less anime fans and even fewer cosplayers. And since NAF is held here, I figured there might be some club in the area.
So, is there? ^^;

There was an other anime related event of which called themselvs "The Maverick Anime Club"- but they shutdown last year- Now NAF itself as well used to host a club in Ajax for a year BUT it did not get the expected attendence (and the club was FREE)- so we stoped hosting it.

I used to attend Maverick Anime and I loved it (despite the place ALWAYS being cold. XD) But I stopped going a few years ago when I assumed it has stopped. (Finding out it ended LAST year is news to me. o_o) It was expensive (Roughly $14) but it was well worth it.
I also attended the one that NAF used to host (and I still have my membership card thinger, that was only optional but I wanted to support it!)
I think that if there is enough interest, another anime club will surface here in Oshawa someday. ^__^

I'd never heard of the club that Tsukasa1 and Mekou are talking about... it sounds interesting!
I do know, however, that Durham College has an anime club. No idea if it's open to people outside of the school, but others on here probably would.
There are a good amount of otaku around here though, that's for sure.

mortont21 - That would be Northern Anime Festival, a convention that takes place at Durham College (though has no affiliation with the school or the anime club there). There's a section here on the forums dedicated to it. ^^
box of doom - It was a club that ran from 2001-2004 and it held meet-ups at the pub where Laser Quest is. ^_^ Just a full day of anime, and Grand Central provided some prizing for games and trivia.
What happened to them and why they stopped, I have no idea.

Yeah, I heard about the one held at Durham College as well.
I thought it was still going; I was invited to join not too long ago...

I'm pretty sure you have to be a student there, or be invited by a student.
