Envy(Fullmetal Alchemist) cosplay.

I've been working on this costume for quite some time and sadly, I'm no where near done. This is my first costume and I'm stuggling greatly. I only have his headband and one of his shoes(or what ever they are) completely done ^^;; I tried to make his skirt but, I failed miserably. I'm not exactly sure out to make it. Also, I have no idea how to make his gloves. I'm really short on cash so I don't intend on buying a pair of gloves and start from there (Also I want to be in the masquerade at Anime Boston 06 and everythignhas to be hand made). Can you give me some hints or tips, please? They'll be greatly appreicated.

I actually did Envy for my first costume too (though I didn't make it all myself)! The skirt is really more like a wrap (you know like the kind you can wear over swimsuits); mine was basically just a piece of fabric with ties on the top of both ends. For the "gloves", I just bought some arm warmers off ebay and cut them to the right length. You also might be able to take a sleeve pattern and alter it.

I hope that helped at least a little.

My friend told me about his skirt being a wrap, but I'm not really sure how too(How pathetic am I?). Do I just wrap it around my waist?

What i did was cut out 2 square pieces of cloth and sew them together for about an inch at the top. Then I would just slide it on over my shorts and Tada! the Envy miniskirt.

Ah. I might try and do that. I still need to do his shirt and I don't wanna run out of fabric. I lost my job so I can't afford to buy anything now >< Thanks though ^_^
