I bought some of the fabric for AC!Yuffie - I'll be starting on that this weekend, as soon as I finish my streetstyle Charmander that I made for absolutely no reason at all. (Somehow, those always turn out to be the most fun costumes - no pressure of con deadlines, etc.)

Two commissions, a gift cosplay, and then two costumes for myself, all before ACEN. Full steam ahead!

I'm showing more skin in my next cosplay than I've ever shown before. (Which isn't a lot. xD)

It's not a lot, but I'm nervous that it may lead to negitive attention.

Oh, how I hate Lycra. ;___; Its like trying to sew with cobwebs or something. No slinky fabrics for me ever again!

Yeah, right. That's like saying I'll never take another commission again. -stares at list of commissions-

Elastic and I have a love/hate relationship.

EDIT:

Umm... my first handmade costume involved pleats. I still have nightmares about having to iron, re-iron, measure, fold, iron, etc. I hate pleats with the fire of a thousand suns. And only in its like, 4th edition did the costume look anywhere near good enough for me to feel proud of my work. Hang in there! You'll feel better about it soon. ;D

I am now going to have nightmares about the pleats on my skirt I have to do XD I really hope so, there's no real deadline to my costume so I'm hoping that once I've finished it I'll be able to see what needs fixing and by the time I get around to showing it it'll look decent

Right now I've got:

- Tales of the Abyss
- Tower of Druga
- Kuroshitsuji
Anything by CLAMP is always very detailed, especially the artwork ^^

I know the feeling. If I had a penny for every time I've hurt myself while making a costume I'd be rich now.

I really need to get started on stuff but have no real motivation to do anything at the moment. I need to get some cheap material to make mock-ups with for my contest costume next year but I have no money.

Why do I bother putting my costume list in my sig when I always change my mind at the last minute? Currently doing the "I forgot the _____" dance and different costumes are in my bag right now.

Seeing some great Bone mascot costumes on the author's blog really makes me want to finish up Thorn. Maybe I'll hit Joanns for the umpteenth time for muslin while I'm in the area tomorrow.

Budget is also worrying me a bit. I'm going to be on my own for a lot of things next year, so I'll be pretty strapped for cash. Granted there are much more important things than cosplay, so we'll see how it goes. I definately will not stop cosplaying but perhaps making new costumes will be a bit slower. I am budgeting myself a monthly sum for extraneous purchases, so perhaps some of that can be set aside for cosplay. (nods)

Is it perhaps the Lucky Star costume you have listed in your signature? The costume that haunted my nightmares was my Lucky Star fuku... I did a Miyuki Takara costume last year. Perhaps that costume is merely cursed.

On my mind right now:

It should not be so difficult to match fabric to shoes. ;___; All I ask is for a teal on the green side. But all of Joann's appropriate fabrics are too blue. I guess I'll be visiting Hancock when I'm home for break, and Hobby Lobby as well.

EDIT: My buttons are here! Now I can sew them all on. :3

*cheers*

I installed my first zipper ever and it actually worked.

One small cosplay victory at a time.

Next...Summoner Yuna! Hmm I'll probably be asking for help on the wig later, on where to buy a wig kinda like hers so I can style it! Lol. =P Hmm and I really like Lenne's earrings so I'm gonna make them, so I can' like wear them randomly when I'm in public. Until I get started on Lenne's outfit. =3
