I wore Simca in the presence of other people for the first time today o3o; (friend's house) friend couldn't stop staring at my miniskirt. "OTL Her words: "It's so short that I automatically look there!"

This is what I get for never wearing skirts.

Yay, just got back from Joann's with everything I need to get my stuff done for Megacon. I was able to help my friends pick out their fabric for their own costumes too. But now I need to sew one of their's... because she has no sewing experience at all. She's paying me though so I guess it's ok.

I need to get started if I'm gonna get this done in time!

... I absoulutely LOVE my Raikou wig. It's such a pretty color of pink and goes well with onw of my tacky!Raikou shirts... which happens to be plaid light green, blue and purple. ...

However my lack of wig skills makes me angry as hell. ... And I am extremely tempted to trim the wig myself... >____>

No way am I coming in to work this weekend. Saturday's already out for familial obligations, so damned if I'm coming in Sunday. Hopefully I can get housework done quickly enough that I can *gasp* start sewing Sunday afternoon. That would be nice. T_T I really want to baste Unohana's haori so I can figure out how much fabric to dye for the lining.

I want my boots and my Axel wig so badly. Less than a week until Price Rite gets back to me (if I got the job...)

And I found out I get half my paycheck for pocket money and the other half goes to the bank. I think I can live with that, depending how much I end up getting. And when I get a job, of course.

I... I'm ready for Katsucon. Well, aside from grabbing a few meal/snack things when I do my grocery shopping tonight.

Finished up a last few things last night, mainly hammering a couple buttons on Tsunade's belt, and zig zagging some inside seams on my orange dress. I even packed. I really hope Tsukasa's staff makes it okay. I'm taking extra string, but I really don't want it to break. Two strands of taut fishing line aren't the strongest thing in the world when it comes to a suitcase and airplane travel.

I don't think I've ever been done for a con prior to the night before. Even that one Otakon when I made plans to go two days before, I still re-styled a wig and re-stitched a seam the night before leaving. I mean, I might slap some more paint on the staff handle when I get to the con... but at the same time, I hold it where the smudges and brown spots are (...I had still wet brown paint on my hands when I held the blue handle for the first time).

I was just thinking about how insanely happy I am that one of my best friends cosplays. We're both cosplay n00bs with only one costume and con under our belts, but we both have the same standards. Like, we both want our cosplays to have the best we can do put in, even if it kills us. Hardyharhar. I'm also happy that her boyfriend is willing to cosplay as Cid Highwind. Fufufu.

My L mask is DONE. And it's soooo creepy. D: But I was looking for a prop I could use to try to stand out from other L's and that was the only one I could find that was canon. xD

It's so retarded-looking it makes me laugh... Next up is Kairi's paupu fruit. ^_^

I'm getting nervous- the fabric I ordered for my friend's Ema Skye skirt isn't here yet. If it's not here by the end of the weekend, I'll have to make an emergency fabric store run.......

And let's hope Joann's accepts my application. Employee's discount FTW!

Next Con: ?????

Finally got the fabric for Hotaru's uniform top and collar. Never realized before how nice 97% cotton/3% spandex feels, and considering how pill-happy the 100% cotton stuff at the Joann's I was at is (and how the stuff I have won't pill as far as I know), it's quite amazing what a difference different blends make.

Also, I swear I want to stab something, I can't find black tricot lamé for the life of me. x.x; I've Googled so much and visited just about every link, and no luck. I've ordered swatches of black metallic spandex and shiny PVC vinyl to see if they'll work better than liquid lamé, the swatch I got is awfully thin. (Someone who knows where an online shop that sells tricot lamé in black is, please tell me. @@ I'm nearly insane from searching so hard.)

I started cutting out pattern pieces for Germany today. Looks like the only parts I can use as-is are the arms. Everything else has to be modified. The front only has to be modified slightly; I just need to combine the top part and bottom part. I need to piece together the back, since in the German uniform I'm referencing there aren't actual seams, just darts at the small of the back. And of course the pants need to be altered, since I'm just using a civil war pattern and the legs are very straight.

I'm irked that they used white thread on green fabric back in WWII. *twitch* I will not be caught doing that, thank you very much.

Ah, I need to look up how to make those shoulder-clippy-thingies. DX I know that there are shirts somewhere at home that have those, so I might just stare at them for a while. I'm pretty sure my old Guides dress has the same things on the shoulders.

And I need to draft a collar pattern piece. . .I don't know if I need to take the one I have from another pattern and just make it bigger or if I can leave it as-is. Probably not, since it's for a shirt. . .*sigh*

And there are tailor darts on the front of the uniform I'm referencing, so now I'm torn between historical accuracy and Hetalia accuracy. *headdesk* Unless there are some *official* pictures of Germany with those stupid darts. Although it does look rather sharp. . .

BAH. This will be more work than I assumed.

And reading week is coming up right away. I'm going to have a lot of work to do, school-wise, but I need to get my ass going with cosplay stuff as well. I want to definitely get the Sebastian pattern off of the paper it came on and onto tracing paper, and I would like to get Germany's pattern modified. I want to get Seb's pattern modified as well but I doubt I'll have time.
