Finaalllyy finished my Naoto hat. It was way more trouble than it was worth and I'm not particularly happy with the results. For all the fabric I had to gather it is not as puffy as I wanted it to be and as a result the band looks kind of big. No changing it now though! I also found a shirt for Naoto at Goodwill, so now I just need to order my wig and casual!Naoto will be done.

I'm not sure what I want to start next though. I kind of want to make a dress...

Take me with you! I'm in need to go to a con already ~_~.
You can wear one of my robot suits, those are pretty warm : ).

I need to finish up my mannequin, since that's the only thing I can do now until I can head into town to get more supplies for various things.

^I have that problem a lot too!

Okay seriously? My friend came over for her fitting and the dress does not go over her head. -_-. I'm going to need to get a LONG zipper to get her into this. Well I did finally get one section of the emblem done for Saber though so that's a good thing at least.

I really hate the way the bias tape looks on my Sophia costume. I paid my good friend to make this gorgeous bias tape for me out of pale gold satin for the trim, and then because I have never used bias tape before on a project & I was running out of time before the convention, I did a terrible rush of a job putting it on and in photographs it looks even more terrible! I hadn't realized before how a sloppy job putting bias trim on can make an otherwise nicely made costume look like crap. I'm not looking forward to ripping it all off and putting it back on, very very carefully.

I feel your pain with the bias tape Good luck if you do try to re-do it. I'm sure it doesn't look as bad as you think it does, though...

My current project is the first time I've used bias tape on anything other than a sewing class test swatch... I'll be making my own from a light weight brocade to edge the bodice. The bodice itself has all sorts of curves and sharp corners to edge, and I'm terrified I'll screw it up. Blah.

Not wanting to deal with the bias tape that is the next step is probably why I'm finding new and complex things to add to my bodice embroidery. I'll now be doing a cutie mark on the lower back left, and additional swirls on the bottom back right of the bodice. And here I thought I was almost done... Nope!

Nope -- I know mine suck. <_<;;

And oh, the love/hate affair that can be bias tape. I had to rip over twenty yards of it off my Trinity Blood costume when I relined it ... most of which had been stitched by hand to close it.

Taking my sister down to LA tomorrow on Very Important Business, and all I'm thinking is, "Can I finagle an hour in the fabric district out of this ...?" Taking swatches just in case, anyway -- not like I get to go down there often enough!

Just wondering if I should go with white fabric paint or white duct tape for the cross pattern on Kyo Kusanagi's sweatshirt

I would go for white fabric or white bias.

So I found out I cannot make shorts without a pattern even if I draft my own. >_> So Pascal will be on hold until I can go get myself a shorts pattern. So I guess I'll start working on Marie now and start working on Saber's tank top.

Made a decision on my next cosplay (kite from .hack) and want to create it myself, but the process of it all is overwhelming me. I have no idea where to start.
