....yeah....those crossplay feelings are still there. This could be the first time I actually figure out how to sew properly.

In other news....after seeing cosplayers in the local newspaper...my only thought is why do I never get invited to anything.....which is probably not my fault but it feels like it.

Which makes me wonder....do I really suck that bad?

Which crossplay is this? o.o

Hey, I know the feeling. It honestly isn't; the only people that that sort of thing happens to are either the really outstanding crafters, really pretty girls, or just the people who put themselves at the center of attention.

And no, in my opinion, you don't suck at all. You're a wonderful cosplayer.

On my own front..There's a guy a grade below me at my school who is going to cosplay Kirito and wants to take pictures with me as Yui AND Natsume with my Ririchiyo.
Can I say that I love this guy a lot, cause there's finally a local cosplayer who likes the series I do and will cosplay with me. And he's actually a really attractive male. Yeah. Add on another girl in our school cosplaying Vinyl Scratch and I really love all these people.

It wouldn't irritate me so much if I hadn't been trying to do a similar event for...quite a while. It kind of felt like a slap to the face

As far as the crossplay goes, I'm not disclosing specifics until I know for sure that I can do it and have a photoshoot arranged.

I want to work on my wig some more but no....I should go work on my trim but before that I should get the paint out of my ironing board so I can safely iron.

but... I just want to start attaching hair. Oh yeah. I should put in the fake hairline thing. So I guess I should do that first.

Hope it will be helpful to some people.
I actually think this'll be super helpful for a lot of people. Especially the left over right thing. I saw a girl do right over left once with her homemade kimono and I really wanted to lecture her so badly - to make thing worse, she used cheap Chinese brocade to make it and we were in the local Japanese gardens... And that was when I barely knew anything about kimono. Erm, anyways... if I could've found this when I started researching, that would have made life SO MUCH simpler. Alackaday, you can't change the timeline. XD

But hey, do you know any good references specific to male kitsuke? Because now that I've decided I am going to do a kimono crossplay, I find I'm treading waters I don't know since I only know female kimono. X_x I've only ever seen a male kimono once and the guy who was wearing was a total creeper so I didn't dare ask him anything about it, and so far my searches have proved rather fruitless since most attention to kimono is on the female side...

Haha, it kind of is and I agree with you. Some people go by that and and others go by the japanese. lol it's an effort to type out both titles. I just figure it's easier to refer to the english version XD

It is expensive but worth it and I'm excited

It's true that most kimono attention is focused on women's kimono. But. You have asked the right person! I know more about men's kimono.. mostly because I wear it myself. xD *coughkimonohobbycough* I'm not sure what you want to know but if looking at pictures helps then take a look at my kimono blog: http://valkoinensamuraikimono.blogspot.com/

Feel free to PM me with questions too if there's something particular you're looking for.

I knew you would know. XD And thank you so much - just seeing these good pics of men's kitsuke... thank you so much! I'll probably pester you with all sorts of questions when I actually get to the point of getting my stuff together, but this is already helping my mind wrap around it big time! :3

The fabric for my 10th Doctor Suit shipped today! I was a bit nervous about it, since some reviews online said that the shop wasn't the greatest... But they were the only ones that had blue and white pinstripe (I have to paint the red on, and wanted to use the white as a guide).

Now I just need to cut the pattern out and start on the muslin/test. I can't believe I'm actually going to make a suit. This should be... Interesting.

Craaaap. I think my boyfriend accidentally fried my identity disk when modding it. Fortunately if he did, we can just stick some EL wire in it to make it glow. (Though I'm staying the hell away from el wire for the suit itself and am using flexible RGB LED strips)

Armor is what I'm worrying about now. Next will be on making a sword which I'll also be clueless about.
Hope all goes well for your latex mask!
