So I didn't glue the fly to my Seymour wig! Yay~ So my wig is starting to look great! (I'd have to figure out how to remove the fly if it was stuck in there...) I'm almost done with the top part on both sides.
I've also cut out Sinbad's purple dress thing, the last piece to my hakama, and seam ripping my obi. So yay, a week for convention I finally get my ass full speed on my cosplays. >.> Tomorrow, I shall sew and work on the stencils.

Well holy crap, Gryphon woodbaby puppets/The Midsummer Knight's dream actually DID make my puppet and ship it out. I'd heard nothing from them since December NOR had my credit card charged to them, so I figured they'd not gotten my order or would never make it. And I was about to ask if it was ever going to happen or not. Yay! Now for Anime North, I'll have an Owloysius shoulder puppet for Twilight Sparkle!

Since I'm trying to get more into sewing and other "practical arts," I started talking to a friend that is part of the SCA (aka LARP) about joining and making a persona.
I'm stupid excited to make a persona and costumes. My excited derpy face for costumery is hilarious AND ridiculous!

I'm trying to decide if it would be too rediculously silly to make a bolero pirate coat out of a minky fuzzy fabric or some sort of terry cloth. It's for Pinkie Pie, and the rest of the outfit is already fabulously random, with at least 5 other fabrics and shades of pink. I'm just not sure how well the fuzzy would go, or translate. It's either that or I order some stretch velvet online, and wait the 2+ weeks before it actually arives.
Granted, if I get it, and it doesn't work in the least, I'm so making a Pinkie Pie bolero for "normal" wear anyway.

I'm having a difficult time being excited about cosplay these days. People are making it more about competing against each other then having fun and enjoying each other's company. It's really bitter and stressful :'(
