No, I found white ones for Max! There's some detailing on them that I'll need to add, but it will keep me from making boot covers. Plus it was the same cost as the white loafers I was considering. So worth it.

Nice! Saving money is always a welcomed relief in this hobby! I picked up two Simplicity patterns on Friday for $2. Hopefully I can make something with them. Along with my hoard of other patterns...

It's very interesting coming at a cosplay you've already made and thinking about what you could do to make it better. After making my big TF2 Heavy costume with Tomislav prop, I've started the process of dismantling the gun and seeing about remaking it with poster board and bondo. This will allow me to sand it down, create pieces that look far more uniform, then I'll probably pour a resin over it to help make it stronger, and then I'll give it a better paint job I hope. I can also fix things that bugged me, like trying to figure out how to make the big main barrel section better as it was done rather poorly and it is amazing it ever held on to main section lol

I'm also looking at making the costume better, by adding some minor detailing to the vest with some thin ribbon like cloth to add some edging to it, then I'll be making brand new "bullets" for the bandolier out of what I hope is far lighter, which give me the ability to create a complete bandolier from back to front and I'll need to make like...75 to 100 of them to do so lol

If I'm not working on my own costume, then I'm helping someone else. WHY CAN'T I GET A BREAK?

Although I was helping one of my friends with learning to sew tonight and it's obvious she actually wants to learn to sew and make stuff herself as opposed to dumping all the stuff she just wants sewn on me. She's being (female) Thor for Halloween, so I started on making her complicated-ass belt tonight. Not only did I use up almost all the pins making it (she wanted to sew it herself), but hell, I did a damn good job on that funky shape!

She also says she wanted me to help because I make the best costumes. lol.

I personally would thrift shop for that kind of skirt, since I have a very comprehensive thrift store near me.

I have cut out the pieces for my Wonder Woman cape. It is more than a semi circle in fullness. It will be delightful to twirl around in!

Ahah hah hah!!! My love of traditional Japanese clothing has put Himura Kenshin firmly onto my cosplay list. ε=ε=ε=ε=ε=ε=┌(; ̄◇ ̄)┘
Since I have't put that much money into Faith Connors and Legolas, (only hours of research), I may put them on the backburners...and that means I only have one definite and iffy-but-looking-good WIP right now...better get some new projects!!!! SSL!Saitō Hajime and Battōsai!Himura Kenshin perhaps? (^O^)Unless someone can recommend a different version of Kenshin.
Wooh! Go team Samurai and Shinsengumi!!!!!! You've infected my cosplay life!! XD

Got the pre-reg form for Setsu printed out. I'm going to have to find out if I can bring a cardboard rifle. Probably not. :/

I hate ripping out seams. I really hate having to rip out the same seam multiple times. Why can't I manage to sew a straight seam?!

Now that my sewing room is painted, I really need to get cracking on my Halloween costume. Being on evenings this month means less sewing time, even though I'm home during the day until 11, and have Fridays off...

Fun fact: Nail art pens work awesomely for drawing patterns onto fabric. I was helping my friend with her Thor costume last night, and she hands me a nail art pen for drawing the belt pattern, and I'm like, wtf?

...turns out I'll be having to get one of those soon.

I also had to sacrifice my combat boots to the greater cosplay cause. Granted, they're four years old and the sole was falling out, so I guess it's best that I not wear them anymore but I miss them already TT^TT (I painted the toes and back silver for Robin >.>)

I liked Psycho Pass(didn't care much for the ending though...). The outfit is really pretty though! I just wish there was more than that one piece of art for it. It lets me be creative to the parts you can't see but at the same time it is annoying. XD
