I have a big steampunk gala comig up in April and hope my new outfit gets here soon so I can begin to prepare. It will be my first time out in a year and my third time going out the door at all this year. I suffer a very bad phobia which keeps me in the house all the time. Autophobia. i am petrified of cars and cannot go out the door if i see any cars moving anywhere. 2 nearly fatal dui hit me in my life growing up and I just cannot ever get over it. I am covered in scars from both of those. I hope to fight it off and get to the gala but it is unknown if i can

-deep, relieved sigh-

Got a lot done today. Re-hemmed Tao- it was SO worth it; the zipper pull is attached to the zipper, as are some eye hooks, which will hopefully work, and the hood is on its way.

Five more days.

Now debating whether to bring Malon to the con. I've never worn her to one and I think she deserves it, old cosplay or no. I will if we can go for all three days. Right now we're just planning on two, I think.

I felt so freaking accomplished just at the fact that I have ALL of my material for the costumes I plan on making next year.

Then I made a list of other things I need to buy.

Then I cried.

Not feeling so accomplished anymore XD

I'm like shitting my pants in anticipation for Arda to release their Elsa/Tauriel/whatever that wig will be called. I have the money, and I've been wanting to get a super nice new Souda wig for a good six months now, so waiting these last few days is killing me.

I was seriously thinking before that I would just pass on cosplaying my splicer for the con, but since I've been trying on Corvo I've changed my mind. Half way through the day I know I'm going to be dying from the heat and the splicer dress is going to be so much cooler and comfortable.

• Cat Mask Spider Splicer [40% Complete]
New Batman Returns Catwoman [30% Complete]

I love the feeling of finishing a costume. When you look at it, the feeling is now that I've finished this, I can take over the world.

Okay guys! When top-stitching pleather/vinyl/PVC, should you use a teflon, walking, or roller foot? (I use a Janome 3128 btw) And what's the difference between the three? Re-making my SnK harness and that's a shit-load of sewing. ¬_¬"

I just got laid off (ARGH! I'm so MAD!) and it has totally thrown a spanner in the works for my con and cosplay plans. Granted, I'm a student and live at home, so it's not like I'm gonna starve, but it was really, really nice having my own money to spend on things I wanted and not have to depend on my parents for stuff like cosplay. Now I have to drop one of my planned cosplays, and my first multi-day con will probably end up being a one day thing if I want any dealers room money.
My Cosplays!
Edward Elric-Fullmetal Alchemist (Complete!)
Eleventh Doctor- Doctor Who (75% Complete)
Tamaki Suoh-Ouran Highschool Host Club (Complete!)
Haru-Tsuritama (Complete!)
Minami (Avatar!)- Baka and Test (10% Complete)
Other Ideas: Crona (Soul Eater),Lavi (D. Gray Man),Ginko (Mushi-shi), Finny (Black Butler), Kyo (Fruits Basket), Sue (Clover)

I hate the waiting game but I must for my cosplays... Also my friend told me she's getting me my Suguru and Camus wigs for my birthday/christmas gifts for me, so yay~ ^^

I think I'll be getting my white fur and grey fabric by the end of the week so I can get to work on Hinahoho and Akuro. I also really should be working on my friends coat but its kinda...underneath all my piles of stuff to wash which I can't till at the very least the 3rd. . . so I'm a bit stuck on what to do there...
Working on: Thorin Oakenshield - The Hobbit, Jon Snow - GoT, Deathstroke - Teen Titans
Events: Hoku Kon 15, Amazing Hawaii Comic Con, Hawaii Amine Matsuri

Finally getting into making small accessories for my costumes (as prep for the bigger things I need to make in the near future). It's my first time really making this kind of stuff out of Wonderflex, so I'm trying not to get too discouraged when it doesn't come out too well. I just keep thinking, "I'm good at sewing, so why aren't I good at this?"

Then I see photos of people who cosplay the same characters I do, and try not to get more discouraged, thinking I'll never be that good and I probably look ridiculous. But I guess everyone has those same thoughts, yeah?

Grrrrr. Last Thursday and Friday my hubby and I watched Hogfather. When we finished it on Friday, I looked at him and went "I'd love to do Susan, but I just can't afford it." At which point he pointed out that one of our friends is very talented and would be able to create the clasp on her cape and the handle and hilt of the sword. He's supposed to be agreeing with me that I don't need to be adding another expensive cosplay to my list, not encourage me to do it!
Next Up: DragonCon 2015
First Doctor (Bathing Beauty), Tenth Doctor (The Christmas Invasion), Gaz Membrane, Death

2015 Plans: Ohayocon, MARcon, DragonCon
