Winnipeg, MB's biggest convention YAY! Still many months (late july, early aug) away but I'm already planning, trying to get people for a cosplay chess match/ play .

Who else is planning on going and cosplaying what? I know more and more out of towners are starting to come in which is cool^__^

I'm being Captain Jack Sparrow from KH2/ POTC2 for the match and maybe another girly cosplay if I have time.

Not sure if I'll go in the Chess Match, Kat, but we'll see as the con gets closer.

Hey hey! If anyone is planning on comming this summer to Ai-kon and wants to be in the chess match the deadline I set is the end of this month and we still need like 22 people >.< possible 23 because I think my Kuro is going to run (if anyone is being Kuro we REALLY need you.)

Post of PM if your interested, I'll be away for ten days in March (16-26) so if you don't get a reply don't worry you will ^__^

Ai-Kon 2006 has been scheduled for July 21, 22 and 23 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre.

Tickets are not available yet, but details will be posted as soon as they are.

Beginning April 1 at 10 a.m., Ai-Kon weekend passes will be available through TicketMaster.

Weekend passes are priced as follows:
Until June 30 - $29 plus agency fees.
Beginning July 1 - $39 plus agency fees.

Individual day passes will be available only on their respective days.

Things to note:

* Children under 8 are free with a paying adult.
* Children under 12 must pay and be accompanied by a paying adult.
* There are to be no recording devices in the showing rooms.
* You cannot upgrade a day pass to a weekend pass once it's been ripped.

I don't know what costumes I should wear yet if any oen has seen my gallery and wants me to wear a surtain one most likely I will but I am for sure wear my KH2 Aertih

I'm doing a trinity blood costume now but I'm stuck between picking out three >.< Their all so pretty! and I want to do a massive insane costume this year because I can! For Esther I need a red wig, but I have the exact same hair as Ion Fortuna.....

Because Ai-Kon is still fairly small, there aren't any guests. Or at least not yet, I'm pretty sure the staff is looking at guests for future years.

Masquerade, Art Fair, Vendors, Showings, Cosplay Photoshoot and games are a no brainer, and the rest of the stuff is organized in conjunction with the con staff, like the Gothic Lolita Tea Party, and Panels.

It's still super fun though, and the anticipation is what makes it even better.

Ok, I kinda assumed it that Ai-kon was like that but it never hurts to ask, and I looking very forward to going to the event!

The Gothic Lolita Tea Party, is basically a tea party where people can come dressed up in EGL costumes, talk about EGL, and have yummy baked goods and tea. There's a whole thread on it over at the Ai-Kon forums here, I'm sure they can answer your questions.

A lot of events are planned out in the forums to some extent too, there's discussions on what type of music to have for the dance, and should there be karoake, what type of game shows to do. You can get a great idea before hand of some events from the Other Events Forum. I hung out there last year, and knew a few of the event details before the con announced them on the site.

Angelica - I saw you last year in your Inoue cosplay, I believe I have a picture lying around someplace as well. It was super well done. Can't wait tp see your costumes, I'll keep an eye out for you.
