Well, I have a genetic dimple in my chin, but it isn't that noticable. I learned you can really fix anything with highlights and shadows and the like, it's all about how the light works really. ^^ I use eye shadow, acutally, for lighter parts, and concealer for the rest of my face. Works well enough.
Actually, my chin can sometimes give the 'sharp' look you speak of because of it, so it's not always bad. Experiment with how you pose your head, it might eventually turn into an advantage.
EDIT: I just remembered back from when I did historical costuming/fantays/LOTR, you could always make a fake chin. ^^ Just make a mold, use liquid laytex, and attach with spirit gum. You can use powder to make it blend in with the rest of your face and stuff. look around alleycatscratch.com./lotr for an elf ear tutorial. Then work off it. (If you can't find anything, PM me.)
