Spring Picnic!!

I was going to wait til after Katsu to post this, but I felt like posting this now.
Whose interested in a spring picnic? Anyone?! Also do we want the same location or should we move it elsewhere in the area? =)

What: Cosplay Picnic
When: May 20th, 2006
Where: Rose Tree Park (Media,PA)
Why?: Because its fun...and food XD!!

Hehe I was just about to post this XD;;

I think the current place is good, lots of room & open fields but if we can think of a better location (that has a bathroom lol >_>) we can vote on it. ^^

Last year it was held @ Rose Tree Park in Media,PA which is right outside of Philly. One year they had it at Fairmount Park and in 03 it was at Ridley Creek Park. Past two times it was held at Rose Tree Park, but in 05 we had a problem seeing as they had the bathrooms shut T_T lol.

Cool, that's relatively close to my house. But do we have any idea about dates? I know that the Cherry Blossum Festival meetup is on April the 9th, so that's not a good date.

Well, uh, personally, I'd love it if the picnic could be moved somewhere further west. ^___^; Philly is a rather long drive for Aine-chan and I. [Four hours according to Mapquest.] Last spring we had planned a photoshoot in Harrisburg [another LONG drive], to which only Aine-chan, myself, and ChibiToon showed up for. So... not to say that I think people will skip out on something larger like an official Northeast Cosplayer Picnic... but the Harrisburg experience kinda turned me off from going on long, expensive roadtrips.

Is there a more central location in PA that would work?

I think some people asked for a more western location for it last year, but the problem with that would be none of the organizers know that area well enough to plan something like this, and Rose Tree is accessible to the 95/Airport/Highway area but if people suggest some nice places maybe she'll consider? <3

well I'm close to Philly, so that would be easy for me, but I wouldn't really mind if it moved a little further away! As long as everyone is happy.

*points to what she said*. Yea people wanted it either further west or south and since I was made organizer, I know neither of those areas well enough to move it to either of those places =/.
I want everyone to be happy, but its so hard with people coming from all places in NY/NJ/MD/PA ;_;.

Rose Tree/Ridley Creek were good spots since they were accessible from I-95 and whatnot. I was concerned with doing it @ Rose Tree again since there was a bathroom issue last year ^_^;;.

As for time of year, in 04 it was toward the end of April, and last year it was in the middle of May XD.

Me too...I really should get more involved with the NE Cosplayers thing because I'm in what is considered Central PA.

..heck, I might even cosplay Sailor Saturn.

..where exactly is the Cherry Blossom parade? I've wanted to attend, but I don't know when or where it is..*cough*I'd make Pleinair to wear to that...*cough*

Rurouni, the Cherry Blossom Festival is held in Washington DC every spring. It's pretty enormous, with special events held throughout April. If you check in this forum, there is a thread for a cosplay.com meet-up that Aine-chan and I are hosting. It's to be held on April 9th, which is the day of the big parade and the sakura matsuri [a Japanese-style street festival]. We'd love you to come. ^__^
