Actually the term "look like a whore" is actually misused a lot I think it's more proper to say "dressed like a hooker" and that only used towards shorts that ride up so high there getting eaten and skirts so short they can't bend over, and heels so high... well guess you get the point. All the conventions I been to I've never seen anyone standing at the corners of any convention halls looking to give anyone a good time.

I've seen however some woman wearing some questionable clothing, but you know so long as it actually fits who em I to judge?

Personally I find all the bitches I know in real life wear rainbows and butterfly type stuff.

Conventions have strict dress codes, it's called no nudity. XD Also ACEN last I went had a rule against woman just wearing towels... ... Wish I was joking.

I've just finished my cosplay and promised loads of people I'd take pictures of the whole thing and I was getting really excited about doing trial runs of the dances in this costume as wll as make a vlog.

Won't be happening if I have a sickness bug and bed ridden. Of all the times!

Been said before, I'm sure, but elitism. It ticks me right off when people start saying "X person can't cosplay Y character because they're too fat/too skinny/too short/too tall/not asian/not black/etc.etc.etc." It's just so... ARGH.

Dressing for your body type is one thing. That's fine. But when people decide it's some sort of fricking crime to cosplay a character you don't look exactly like? It's bloody ridiculous.

Right now, when my cosplay makeup won't come off. Even after a thorough face-washing and two showers, I can STILL see remnants of my Kurama eyeliner from Yesterday. It's making me wary of being Kurama again if the makeup is THIS hard to get off.

One example is cosplaying for charity fundraising. Lack of transparency with charities gets complicated with the use of cosplay for visibility. Where does the money go? What do people do with the money once its donated? Do the cosplayers involved have any sort of personal stake in the cause being advocated? And while I would obviously like to avoid slut-shaming, there is the fact that a lot of sexualized cosplays get chosen for charity movements because they mean more visibility, but I can't help but notice that that seems to imply that people should just obey teh sexy without asking questions, which is a little bit sexist and condescending to everyone, IMO. Even if good money gets raised, on principle I side-eye any charity movement that involves people expressing and practicing privileges rather than empowering those hurt or effected by the cause in question. I won't badmouth anybody who goes to the trouble of fundraising, but after a while it just seems like too many pretty white (and sometimes Asian) girls trying to make themselves look important.

Another example I can think of is when people's beliefs as cosplayers end up contradicting their beliefs as people. Sorry for the checklist, it's been bugging me:
- people who claim to oppose sexism but dump on girls for wearing revealing outfits on a consistent basis. (and really, you're allowed to dislike what people are wearing, but know how to express those feelings like an adult).
- people who apparently oppose institutionalized racism but then deliberately lash out at anybody who complains about brownface/inappropriate use of tan makeup.
- people will say, "be sensitive, be considerate, respect people's feelings if they find you offensive", but then turn around and say, "so what? stop policing me!!" the minute that someone else finds something they do problematic. A personal example: I, personally, find it to be incredibly rude when people openly admit to cosplaying from series they don't know. I don't actively give people grief about it, but whenever I've made it known that I feel this way, the same people who say, "respect each other" turn around and accuse me of "shaming" them because they can't stand the idea that anything they do is problematic.
-slacktivism. The number of people who fill their online activity with tweeting or posting or reblogging or pinning their politicial beliefs and signal-boosting causes, without lifting a finger to help in real life because they're too busy making themselves look like Important-Profeshunel-Cosplayers. There are some reasons behind it, usually the typical "I don't have time/money/means" lines, as well as the fact that people's attitudes are often a big barrier that need to be addressed for any social movement to be successful, and this is done by integrating information and behaviour into day-to-day life and conversations. But aside from general daily behaviours like talking to other people, I'm tired of people who have the time and money to do nothing but cosplay and attend cons suddenly and conveniently not having the time and money for all those causes they blog about.
Amen to every bit of this. I despise brownface makeup and tanning for the sake of a character to appear more 'accurate'. I'm black - I will NEVER be accurate enough for a character. If a person can't recognize your costume and consider themselves to be a fan of whatever series, then they obviously are not a good enough fan.

Which of course means that the Old Spice Guy is totally fine. I hate this type of sexism. Women are judged so harshly for showing a little leg while men wearing a towel and flip-flops are loved. I do personally know a guy who does the Old Spice Guy and the worst that's ever happened to him is the con asking him to put on a shirt. He put on a tank top but the next year at the same con they let him go shirtless.

I agree in general that the double-standard is both frustrating ang wrong (in my opinion), but there is a huge difference between a guy being shirtless and a girl being shirtless. XD Granted, I do hope the towel rule applied to both men and women....though it probably didn't. ._.

Rare make up colors. For Aradia, I need red lipstick, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and mascara. And apparently NO ONE makes that color! I'm even having a hard time finding red mascara/eyeliner/eyeshadow online, especially eyeliner. And when I do find one, it's usually 20 dollars. Like, no thanks. I'd rather keep searching than spend $20 on eyeliner.

Red Eyeliner
^That is $4.50 + Free Shipping. :3

Red Eyeshadow
^$7 + Free Shipping. Not sure what shade of red you're looking for, but that's a basic one. XD With a decent primer, Nyx eyeshadows are fairly good.

As for the mascara...I found an Auburn one, but including shipping it was like $20. ^^;;;

EDIT:// You could buy some cheap red false lashes maybe?

I think I might go with the false eyelashes, red mascara is WAY to hard to find, and what I did find is expensive and wont get here in time.

And I can't find any false red eyelashes either! UGH.

EDIT: Okay, after seeing other people and how they did her make-up, I think I'll just go with black mascara, but exaggerate the red on the outside of the eyes. I think it'll look good!

People who don't take running a panel seriously.

It takes a LOT of work to run a panel, especially one with 30+ participants. You can't just sign up and be done with it until con time, these things need planning.

I am very frustrated right meow. ._.

Hmph. After going to a big con and having virtually no pictures taken (I never hung around where people were taking pictures and had to leave before the photoshoot, though; I blame myself)
Getting jealous of all my friends putting up these AMAZING pictures of each other.
And I'm just over here trying to furiously plan my new costume until that flood subsides to keep myself from one of those 'never-wanna-cosplay-again' moods.
I had really expected more pictures from this, but..I guess not? This isn't the first time it has happened, it's starting to have an effect on my self esteem. Oi. So not getting a lot of pictures taken of a costume I think deserves them.

Another thing, having a week off, but since my parents have to work I can't go do anything for Gumi. All I need is to find a leather vest and a green scarf. All I need is to go to a thrift store and then work out whether I want to make a megaphone or flag. But nobody's here to take me ;-;

And on the whore statement, I use the term 'whore' simply so I don't have to say 'She looks like a scantily clad woman!' - It's the mental image that you get in your head when you think of the word 'whore', not the literal meaning. Plus, using the term 'looks like' in front of it should mean I don't factor personality in it: looks and maybe a few mannerisms.
Maybe I could use some better wording, but that is the easiest way for me to put it. Besides, I don't go up to someone's face and tell them they look like a whore, if I did, I would put it in a kinder way. (Usually I have to explain something like this when talking to someone else at the con at or after the con if they start griping and name-calling, nothing more.)

Ah.. That word still has a really bad connotation. Because, it's an insult really.
And just because a word is shorter, doesn't mean you should use it. That's almost like saying "I don't say "black person" or "african american" because it's too long of a word. I use the N-word instead." No. No one should do that lol.

But anyway. "Skimpy" is another word you can use instead of scantily clad or a whore. For example: "Look at that skimpy outfit." Go ahead and say that.. Because that doesn't say much other than plain observation. But if someone catches you calling them a whore (even not to their face) that's going to RUIN their day. I've actually seen quite a few stories on Coscom about something like that. And some people might get the wrong impression of you if they're talking to you and you start calling people whores for what they're wearing.

Just, you know, letting you know.

My pet peeve of right now is foot injuries, especially when I really don't need it. I'll be seeing a doctor later today to get it all checked out but last time this happened I ended up in a cast for a month.

HEXXP is this month in like 2-3 weeks! T_T I was planning on entering WCS at HEXXP but I don't think I can do the skit if I have a cast on my foot. Don't even know if I can staff at HEXXP if I have a cast. Also, I can't use the foot petal on my sewing machine with my other foot without twitching so I can't sew right now ether.
