I think Ohayocon just hit gold in the skit department this year. There was a three minute limit, and most of the skits did an awesome job of keeping it interesting for that long (though a few were closer to two.)

But the ones that didn't... ugh. It was no fun XD. I can see why some cons would have limits that short.

Peeve:

At this point we have a complete 11 member Akatsuki group but I know it's not going to last. The actual convention isn't until May, I'm pretty much positive that at least one person will either back out, or not finish, or do a totally shitty job. All of which would frustrate me immensely.

I know there's a few of us that will be done for sure, some of us already are, but there's a couple of groups newer members participating and I'm concerned about their reliability. I guess I'll just have to hassle them for the next 3 months to make sure it gets done.

Having to scrap my Bender cosplay because there's no feasible way to get the damned thing down to Georgia for Dragon*Con. This probably would have been even more of a peeve if I had started to construct it.

My current cosplay peeve:

How my acne increases the week or so before almost every con. It's just not fair. This time it's because I ran out of the stuff I use for it about a month ago, and things have been so busy I haven't gotten any more. I'm actually thinking about using makeup to try to cover some of it up this time around, when I've never touched makeup before. I just want to die when I think of any pictures of my cosplaying coming up online and there's acne all over my face. ;_;

Makeup is your friend man, some concealer should do the trick. I know your pain though dude, I just got two tattoos, and have been aching to show them off, but the lotion I use to moisturize causes my sking to go DUDEWTF and break out.

It sucks.

Makeup works, and actually, everyone should really get in to the habit of at least putting on a little bit of foundation and powder. It really helps smooth out blemishes and keeps your face from looking crazy shiny in pictures, even if you don't have blemishes.

Most authorities tell you the only surefire way to get rid of a huge honking pimple on short notice is to get a cortisone injection from a dermatologist. But, like, how many people can actually do that? Investing in one or two good concealers-- maybe one skin-toned one, one that's green to help cancel out the redness-- is always useful. If you're a guy and you're wonky about using makeup, you just need to get over it. It doesn't magically turn you effeminate. Theater and screen actors use makeup all the time, and...

...you know what, bad example.

I seriously recommend using at least a liquid foundation and powder. Even that will do wonders. It might not completely hide them, but it reduces redness. I also like to use my under eye concealer on them as well. My photos don't show it, but winter time, my skin breaks out like crazy.

Peeve: This website that I'm ordering some fabric from next week has heavyweight upholstry vinyl in the PERFECT maroon color that I need for all of Kamui's lovely belt things, but just my luck, it's only in special order and for that I'd need to order five yards of it.

There is NO WAY ON THIS EARTH that I'm ordering that much of an expensive fabric when I only need about a yard. ><
