REALLY LONG ZIPPERS- where can I get them?

hey guys! I need a really long zipper, like several feet long, any suggestions where I can find one?

You can buy zippers by the yard, actually. I've seen them at JoAnn's in the Notions section, on spools. You might ought to try the upholstery area as well.

they do sell some long ones by the bias tape stuff too at joanns the longest they have is a 100 inch and it's called a sleeping bag zipper. With the zipper by the foot you gotta put on the pull and the stopper and I dont know if that's hard or not since I've never used them.

oooh hai i have seen a zipper thing that was jus a spool (must have been like 5 yards or somehing) at hancock fabrics. and the sleeping bag zippers are kewl too...100" is alot of zipper ^^:;; the longest i ever used was 22" an invisible zipper. looks great in clothing ^^.

^_^ I'm planning a Squall for my hubby cuase I thought it wouldn't be too terribly hard and it would be a comfortable costume for him.

oooh, I'm too ashamed of my Felicia costume right now to wear it! I'd have to fix some things on it that moved too much. Even though I love it!

as to A-Kon, I hope I can go!! I really enjoyed myself last year going, but it's a little expensive for me (plane ticket...) I will try to go though.

I'm for sure going to Fanime, AX and Baycon and Comicon though.

Also check if there are any "upholstery warehouses" near you. They tend to have really long, nice zippers (for things like slip covers, couches, ect.) Especially if they deal in silks, they have really nice zippers in a variety of longer lengths.

welp! I went down to the fabric district and found some not QUITE as long as I wanted, but as a plus, they are really "cartoony" looking, really large teeth, so that makes up for it.

erm... I got them in the fabric district, it's not super convenient for me, as it's in Downtown LA. O_o... I guess if you don't mind waiting till the next time I go? I'm not sure, but they may have only had black with grey teeth. and they only had one medium/long length

i remember the fabric district in L.A....you are so lucky to be able to go there. i went last summer and picked up all this light pink stretchy material...but i dont know what to do with it! hahaha. it was just so cheap and temping. i need a zipper for kingdom hearts sora....his is gray, i think.
