Getting your Stuff to Costume Con.

So, you want to take 9 costumes, several wigs and big bins to Costume Con 24 in your puny Hyundai Elantra?

I'm going to check on van rental costs from Cedar Rapids to Iowa City.

I wonder how those of you flying in are dealing with your packing challenges?

Renting a van is an excellent idea to cut costs and share expenses. We do it all the time. Rates can be pretty decent for over a weekend, if you get a week's rate.

If you are traveling within the continental US, I recommend shipping anything you have ready via FedEx Ground. It takes 5 days to get there, but each box can weigh up to 70 pounds.

Andy and I usually ship at least 2 footlockers of stuff. Typically costs about $45 each way.

Just confirm the hotel will accept the boxes on your behalf before you do it

For CC26, I plan to UPS my stuff to the hotel from Minnesota. This way, the packages are prepaid for return as well as Insured. There is a tracking number also. I can only take so much on the plane.

Or!! I can send the stuff to my sister-in-law who lives in the Willow Glen area before hand and she can get the boxes to me at the hotel. I will do what works out best.
