Ok, since there's about 11 hundred keyblade topics, can we just lump ANY keyblade questions at all into one single keyblade topic?
This is questions, images, help, what keyblade you may be making, etc.

If the keyblade you want to make is either the Kingdom Key or Oathkeeper then I'd advise you to go to Blights tutorial which is here

I'm a bit confused about the Oblivion keyblade. In the shots I've seen of it, it looks like the chain is just lying on top of the middle section, but every time I've seen it made it has the middle cut out with the chain inside. Opinions?

The middle is cut out, if you look at official artwork. There is definitely space between the chain and the borders.

Can anyone recommend a light weight wood that would be right for creating a keyblade like the oblivion or oathkeeper? I know nothing about wood @.@;

The Middle of the Oblivion? Triiiicky.

Load up KH1 and summon Mushu so you can get a good look at it. Clearly black in the center, with the chain laid on top of it. In fact, if you pause while he is twirling it, you can see chain peices jutting out on either side of the keyblade.

Load up KH2 if you have the oblivion. Again, clearly solid in the middle.

Nowm pull out your old copy of Deep Dive. Wait until twoblades is looking up at the tower, about to dash up it. Ah, ah! See that in the lower left corner? the center is cut out. You can see through it.

So, was the center left in for the purposes of speeding up rendering in game?

Was the center taken out in error, as the fmvs were made by a separate company, and not SE themselves?

Either could be right.

Honestly, by Nomura's artywork, it looks like the middle is solid. It appears on the white page of the Ultimania with a solid middle. Un game, for both games, it has a middle, and rendering around that chain would not be all that tricky. So why is the middle cut out in Deep Dive? In my opinion, it's likely because they found Nolmura's design to be physically impossible, without big odd pieves jutting out. Or maybe they just thought it looked more slick.

Your call on this one. Make the Oblivion as you see fit. : 3

Structurally, it'd be harder to do that though without it collapsing. :\
That's why our is made of plastic rather than wood.

I have a question! ^_^ okie it's odd to wonder what's the overall height of everyone's keyblades, but I'm really curious. I've been calculating the proportions Sora and the Kingdom Key ((from Mr. Nomura's Illustrations)) to one in real life. If Sora was about 5ft 5in/6in, his keyblade would probably be about 40inches. Yes I am a Math dork :3 Now my current situation is that I'm staring at a 48in (4ft) peice of wood and was wondering if you guys think I should cut it down? Please answer ;_; Thankies ^^

My keyblade was about 38 inches so 40 inches would be the average length of a keyblade.
