Cosplay picinc close by

it has come to my attation that we have to drive very far for a cosplay picnic, weather it be in boston, or New York, i'd like to have one close. what do you guys think of that?

Where was the original cosplay picnic supposed to be? You'd think there'd be a spot nearby that could be used... I certainly would want to stay close if I were attending, seeing as how
a) costumes can be finicky to have to drive long distances in and
b) gas prices are ridiculous right now and
c) personally, I don't know the area at all, so I'd rather not have to go back and forth all over God's Green Earth, thus multiplying my chances of getting lost.

I was actually thinking of trying to organizing one in the Bristol area sometime this summer, but I don't have time to do so now..

If there was one in CT, I'd definitely try my best to go ^_^

well, I was thinking of having it some place close by in driving distance to me. Like a park or something. (no duah) -_-. But yah. I was wondering if the ct con people would actually like something like this.

There is a nice park on the Hartford/West Hartford line... Elizabeth Park - they have a nice fowl pond and a very pretty rose garden. It is also near the govenor's mansion on Prospect St.

Another nice place that is a bit out of the way is McLean's Game Refuge in Granby, CT. I'm also fond of a town park in Marlborough, CT along a lake... I can't remember the name of it right now =(
