Exclamation Kingdom hearts 2 Riku... Wig time >.<

I have a few ideas about this wig but I was wondering if I could get a few opinions before I bought anything...!

As per usual XD

I'm going for something between the in-game (chunky spikes) and FMV (smooth and flowy) styles in the game.
Basically, more like the "Deep Dive" version.

I was wondering about what base wig I should use :\
The main problems are...
  • I want to cut bangs into in myself (so no bangs!)
  • It needs to come in white or a light silver
  • It needs to be longish (Front hairline, over back of scalp to ends: 22-25 inches?)
  • It needs to be fairly thick. (Layers and spikes. Oh my!)

So far suggestions that I've gotten were to get Amphigory's FemmeFatale style, straighten, and add extensions to the back for length. (My mom adores my pink FF wig XD)
That or the enchantment, but I'd rather not get something that long >.<

I'd like to stick around $35 or less, but it really depends on the wig. =^.^=

Warning! Pictures 2, 3, and 4 are... somewhat spoilers I guess... If you didn't know what his costume looked like >.> I cropped out any plot points ^.^

I believe there was a thread regarding this earlier but yes, instead of spamming and creating another thread, I guess I want to put my inquiries here as well ^^;;
and I wanted to ask peoples opinion if I should custom dye the wig to get it to an almost light purple-silverish color. I went ahead and looked through Katie Bair's wig dyes and played around with the flash thingie to see what color results I would get and wanted to ask if I got a wig in 'snow white' and used the twilight purple dye, would that come out a nice color for a Riku wig?

Muahaha... But that was a KH1 Riku thread ^.~
I was wondering about dyeing mine a light silver blue...

Maybe only apply it on the under layers? That way it's be kind of an undershadow rather than "BAM! I'M PURPLE. PH33R."

I picked the wig I'm using up from an eBay store (Karen's Wigs). It has a skin top and it's SO nice and thick. . .Hee hee. . .

The colour I'm using is silver-white. It is soooo sososo perfect. The bangs that it does have are below the chin, so. . .yush.

Personally, I'm not gonna mess with the colour of it, because I'm going more with official art and ASAS/DD/FMVs than in-game graphics (I am SO scared to style it according to ingame graphics)

Anywho. I suggest getting a thick wig, and cutting spikes into it, via separating the sections and carefully cutting it. I'm not sure about the results you'll get (never tried it myself), but it should work in theory.

How about this wig in color 60?:
http://www.cosworx.com/product.php?p...at=2449&page=1

I bought that wig recently (although it was the extra-long version) and it's honestly the thickest wig I own. It has a skin top as well, and it seems like cutting bangs into it would be easy. It also has a very noticeable silver-tone to it.

You would definitely have to straighten the wave out of it and trim the length a bit, but I thought I'd post it as it's the first wig that came to my mind when I looked at the pictures. =D

I like that one but I'm not too sure if I'll be able to switch the part to a middle part >_<

Anyone have any experience with the shorter Linda???

I've worked with a wig similar to that and switching it to a middle part isnt to hard it just looks weird until I soaked it through with warm water to let it stand down XD but I personally am a little iffy about getting a wig like that for KH2 Riku but I am still on the hunt for a good wig as well.
and under shadowing the purple sounds like a good idea but I guess I'll go with highlighting the wig like what I did with Ed's wig and instead of having the spikes totally stick out with pomade and what not. I'll let it go with a mixture of the art and the ingame graphics XDDD weird wig yes lol.

Oh, that wig is a middle part - the models are just wearing it funny (mine is middle part, in any case). DX

Edit: If you'd like, I can take some closer photos of my wig? It's silver, and the only difference is the length as far as I can tell.

That'd be great

It's just that both of the model pictures have it that way so I'm not horribly sure.

For the models though, one has it parted to the left while the other has it parted to the right - so I think they're definitely just wearing it that way (although you could ask Admin/Cosworx to be totally sure) I imagine it's the same as the only difference is the lengths (because the name of the wig is the same).

I'm babbling. I'll take some photos of my wig when I get home from work tonight. =D

Okay! I almost forgot to take the photos (KH2 is...distracting) but here they are. Ignore my sad emo look in the 4th picture. -_-; It was the best photo of the wig on a person showing the part. The wig isn't brushed in the pictures. I'm also not wearing a wig cap, and I have nearly black hair, so it doesn't show through the netting at all, which I was impressed with.

Also? Indoor lighting is sad.

Okay, excuses are done. I hope these pictures help. XD

Just wanted to add my thoughts since I'm doing this costume as well.

It's got the skin top and comes in a silver white color, not too long and I think all it would need is some straightening and layering.

Oh yea! My two cents! Um, normally if I was looking for something like that I'd go to my local costume store (Center Stage. They have cheap stuff) and look for something like that. ITs alot easier to see if you're getting exactly what you're looking for if you get it in person.
Though, there's always ebay...

My local wig stores just seem to have more ethnic styles and natural colors. Ordering a specific color through them would be veeeeery expensive. T.T

Infini- Wow! That's awesome! If I get a positive on the email I sent CosWorx, I think that one may work. =^.^=
Thanks so much!
