DragonBall wig help

Yea. Im attempting to do one of Yamcha from Dragonball (the earlier version when he first appeared, not Z or GT) Anyway, Im going to use a wig but not a foam wig because that has resort to many problems in the past. Plus, I am probably one of the brave to attemt this (and possibly the only girl that has attempted to crossplay him ^_^ Here is the problem.

1. What kind of wig style do I need? He has very big hair so I don't know if I need something similar to a godiva wig or something shorter.

2. How do I attempt to style it? I am pretty much a n00b to styling wigs so Im not sure where to start, what types of hair products I need (hair spray, mousse?) , etc etc.

Here are reference pics I am using. If you have any better ones, post them here or pm me. I seem to have trouble finding pics of the back of the hair.

Finally getting around to it, huh?

I would suggest poking around Cosworx for a medium-to-long wig that has bangs and a lot of volume, and maybe layers already in it. You're not going to be able to get the giant poofy look he has (without getting a punk wig and looking kinda silly), so I'd suggest going for a more "natural" version of what his hair would look like in the real work. Tease up the bangs and the layers, maybe cut some extra layers in, and style it so it's big and floofy and curls up at the tips.

And yeah, regular old hair spray will work to style it. You shouldn't need anything too complicated - maybe some hair glue (a spiking glue) if you really intend to go for some super-big spiky bits. Don't think of it as styling hair, think of it as sculpting the shape of Yamcha's hair. It looks scarier than it is.

Yea, finally am. Ready to wear something besides Anthy the Rosebride.

I got done with the Videl cosplay and its okay. Just havent worn it yet. Easiest cosplay I have done. Could have been better.

The Yamcha cosplay should be very interesting to see. If this works out, I might do another outfit of his.
