Help with Costume

As you can tell, I'm new here :P
I really want a Zelda costume, but as you may be able to tell, I have no honest clue where to start o.o I either wanna be Zelda, or another female LoZ character. Since it's my first time making a costume, I just think it would be easier being Zelda for I look most like her with long blonde hair, etc. :P You get the picture.
So, anyways..Any ideas? e.e Thanks in advance o.o..

I always thought Zelda was a guy . . . oO;;; But I only played it once for a few minutes, and that was back when it was brand new. So what do I know. Which means, could you post a reference pic for us?

i always though it would be kewler to go as sheik..ya, i know it's technically the same but they really have such diferent attitudes...mabye she's a skitzo.
er..i think zeda would be a decent level, one of hte forest people would be even easier. Babbit-cahn has a point about waht versoin though.
