love the costume. especially the pants(for lack of the proper name). they look very well done. only thing im not sure about is the scar on his face. it might just be the angle the photos are from. but its hard to tell if u have it. other than that, very well done!^^

Both of the costumes look very well done. You're one of the best Kenshins I've seen. The only thing I can complain about is the color of your wig. It's has a bit too much of a purple tint to it. Kenshin's hair is like a raspberry color. Though if your going for the movie variation color of his hair, then that's probably as close as you can possibly get. Why does his hair color change repeatedly? I never got that. I also suggest posting up reference pictures since most people are too lazy to look him up for comparison or are not familiar with the series.

well at the begining of the manga his hair is red orange, and at the end in volume 28 its alot darker. As for the Samurai X: Tust, betrayl, and reflections they wanted to go for a more realistic hair color, but still used silv er for enishi's hair.

as for the scar, its there but it looks like a real scar, in color and the way it looks. normally kenshin cosplayers use red marker for the scar and it comes out to bbright and too thick. as for me I used Lip liner color called "rusty pink"

let me tell you making authentic hakama is a (excuse my language) bitch.
basically its 2 rectangles of fabric with a crotch cut out and then nothing but continuous pleating and pressing.

As a fellow Battousai cosplayer, it's nice to see a good Kenshin cosplay! Great job there on both of them. I'm liking the nice crisp lines on the hakama. The wig does look a bit dark, but still a nice shade which compliments your battousai cosplay well. Some details I would add...is a second sword (wakazashi) and the details on his bracers for your Battousai. But other than that, nicely done! ^_^d

I remember you from Anime Punch. I still have a pic of you if you want it.

Anyway, I think it looks good, construction wise. But like everyone else says, the wig needs work. I think the wig is a little too dark. Some wig dye or sharpies should help it.

I dare not touch this wig, its freakin expensive $45 wig, i will not touch it. As for the Wakasashi i know its missing and the fact that battousai didnt use a sakabato, I went to traders world flea market today in search of battousai's katana and wakasashi but to no avail

The wig does seem like it's a litle too dark...Kenshin' hair being more of an orange....like...2 shades darker than Orihime's hair, from Bleach..

Besides that, the costume looks accurate, though I PERSONALLY feel that for the younger/Hitokiri Battousai version of Kenshin, I would have used a darker blue...this again, giving more of a menacing touch to the one assassin/baddass Kenshin.

Besides that, for additional details, I think the suggestion to carry a Wakazashi was great...for authenticity.

Besides that, it does look very well done. Don't forget to show off that scar of his, though!

+1 man.

Of course, I must appraise a fellow clansman's handiwork. And it is frickin' awesome! You make a wonderful Kenshin. I especially like the Battousai pics, they're fantabulous. As for the hair- I say don't touch it. It looks just fine. I honestly think the color you're using is just fine. It may not be perfect, but if you feel like it, you can get another wig at some other point in time. But that's just this humble little ninja's opinion. :japan:
