Air Gear Agito's rollerskates

I'm planning on crossplaying Agito from Air Gear, and I was wondering if anyone knows how to customize a pair of bades to look like Agitos?
I'm not going to add the spikes on the blades, but I'll add the part on the front.
I would prefer something easy to use/shape and something cheap.

(note : I'll be doing the orange outfit, but the blades are the same)

Buying some High density foam, cutting it to shape, sealing it and then painting it should do the work.

Thanks! Would any kind of paint work on that kind of foam?

That is a very cool outfit

Lots of the cheapest rollerblades are just plastic shells you could probably modify them to suit your needs.
I believe that wonderflex would be a good addition. It's easy to form and attach.

Well, after you seal it, I suggest using some spray paint because that will give it an even coat.

Luckily, it looks like Agito's ATs aren't too colorful, so there shouldn't be too much of an issue with detailing.

If possible, I'd say get some cheapo rollerblades, if you don't have a pair already, and build the AT over it so they can be velcro'd/strapped/whatever'd over the skates instead of having to build this entire structure onto them.

I just figure it would be easier to have something you could take off if you needed to repair it.

Also, kudos to doing Air gear cosplay. Seems this series is finally catching on

Thank you to your both! I'll try get my hands on some spray paint!
Adding another layer sounds like a good idea too! I'll have to figure out a good way to attack the Trecks to the rollerblades, first. ^^
Yes, Air Gear does seem to be catching on! I've been seeing more and more cosplayers every con~ x3

I dressed as Akito at Otakon, awesome character <3

As for the ATs, I didn't get them done in time, I Hope I'll have them done for whatever con I try to get to next, but basically what I did was buy a pair of "Speed" roller blades or whatever.. I got lucky and they were on sale, and happened to have huge wheels for rollerblades. Since there was only one picture of the Regalia to go off of at the time that I could find, I didn't get much done, but for the basic shape, I used that pink insulation foam you get at a hardware store and carved it into the shape of the roller blade to fit flush against the bottom of the boot area and around the metal bits that hold the wheels. (Make sure you don't sink the foam too far in or the wheels won't turn anymore)

After that I pretty much spent a few hours with a dremmel thingy getting the shape close, then finished the shape with sand paper, if possible try to make them just barely smaller than you want the finished to be, then I put a couple layers of tape over the foam, and folded wonderflex around it to get the finished shape. They're not perfect because I was sort of rushing them in the last week and a half before con, but If I'd had abit more time I think I'd have had them pretty damn good.

Oh, and as a fellow Akito/Agito cosplayer, I suggest you find some way to travel with the leg straps comfortable, I ended up tripping over them quite a few times.. /cough.

Edit: Oh and I should mention that Either Wonderflex is hard to use in small/detailed areas, or I was doing something wrong with it.. >.>; Oh, and be really careful not to melt the plastic on the rollerblades like I did. Lol

I only just started watching the anime a few days ago.

I suggest what you do is use thin plastic, and use this tutorial http://amethyst-angel.com/armormaking_intro.html (although it's pretty much what everyone else has been saying.)

A tip for the trailing belts, you might want to us some kind of invisible line to hold them to you or buckle them to your pants like hot topic pants, cause you don't want you to be lying there with a bloody nose, just cause you had to have them trailing.

But AT is different from normal skates right? Normal skates have 2 wheels while AT only have 2. Sorry, if this is OTP. Just voicing out my opinions.

Which is why he got the speed Skates. not sure why they're called speed skates but pretty much they have much larger wheels (which is another difficult characteristic of ATs) and I figure it can't be too hard to remove a couple of them.
