Help! Fast way of making Winry's wrench?

I've completly procrastinated and my con is this coming weekend! I've made my Winry costume and everything, but I've never made a prop before >.< Anyone know a fast easy way to make a wrench? I'd probably exaggerate the size a little bit Thanks so much!

You could also head to a hardware store and try to buy one if you're really strapped for time. XD That is, if your con will allow that.

I actually have a real wrench thats pretty big xD But I don't know if my con allows it. I emailed them about it and they haven't responded yet (which is expected because it's so close to the con ^^.

Yeah, but that rule is different for every con. Live steel is something with an edged (sharp) blade. This would be considered stage steel since it doesn't have a sharp blade and at both cons I go to, it would be allowed.

Ahh I'm stuck ;_; I cut out the wrench in the cardboard and posterboard, but I want to make a hole at the end of the wrench like a real one does, but I don't know how to make a clean cut. I haven't glued anything yet. What should I do? >.<

I've been making wrenches to give away to Winreys who have none or only wimpy ones. I have a template made of poster board. Trace around it onto a sheet of Foamcore. Cut out two pieces. Cut out a rectangle for the thumbscrew and glue a scrap of poster board to one side. Glue the two pieces of foamcore together with the scrap of poster board between. At this point only details and paint remain. Find some fine lined corrugated cardboard and cut a rectangle at an angle. Tear away one side and you have the screw-wheel detail. Glue this onto the poster board in the rectangle. Repeat for the other side. Cut a triangle out of the foamcore on each side for the neck of the moving jaw. You will notice this area has a rougher finish on a real adjustable wrench. Use the tip of a hot melt glue gun to push in the foam to represent the rough cast suface. Paint a meduim gray. Just paint a black circle for the hole in the handle. I will post a pic of my template in my gallery. Print to the desired size for your own template. Good luck and have fun. EDIT: I've uploaded the template pic. I can e-mail it too, just send a PM with an email address.

Try an architectiaral supplies store- Sometimes office supply stores have them, but ussually the ditzes working there aren't bright enough to realize it and will them- Wait for it- Tell you to go to an archtectualr store. sometimes with directions, too.

Foamcore should be available at Art supply stores, Jo Anns, Michaels Crafts, even some discount stores. It's just two pieces of poster board on either side of a sheet of foam.

Haha that figures. Our JoAnns went out of business quite a while back and our Michaels went out of business recently. But I'm trying with cardboard considering I don't have the time to find foamcore. Counting today I have 3 days to get it done if not less than that and between school, tests, homework, ect. D=
