Registration?

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem....

I pre-regged for Anime Central way back in September and never got a confirmation that my money was recieved. I emailed their reg people three times and they still have not got back to me. Maybe out of state people are held until the last minute? I dunno. I'm just hoping I don't have to pay at the door price....

How did you pay? By check? If so, do you have the cancelled check you can bring along to prove they contributed to the delinquency of your wallet already? I'd give them some more time to post a list of pre-reg'eds and smail back receipts. I sent in my check and SASE two weeks ago and haven't heard back from yet if that'll give you a small peace of mind. *naively believes in the power of USPS*

I wonder why they haven't moved into the world of electronic transactions yet. :P

Yes, I paid by check.

I hope so, I'll see what I can dig up in my bank statements from September.

And I don't remember sending a SASE. ^_^;

From the ACen registration page:
http://www.acen.org/regform.html

Please print this form directly from your web browser and include with your payment a Self-Addressed, Stamped Envelope (SASE).

I shall mumblepost a question about registration to the acen mailing list.

Yes, reg staff is busting their asses to get everyone entered. This year there is a different manager this year. Plus everytime they finally get caught up with one batch of entries a whole new batch comes along...

Just be patient, keep your cancelled check and bring your state id with you when you go to pick up your regrestration pack

Here's the reply I got:

If you forget to send a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE), you will still be registered for the convention. You just won't receive a receipt.

The best way to make sure you're registered is to see if your check or money order has been deposited. If it has (and doesn't bounce), consider yourself pre-registered, and head to the pre-registration line when you arrive.

If you sent cash, shame on you! We're honest, and process pre-registrants who pay with cash when we get them, but we can't make any claims about the honesty of postal employees!

Also, please remember that we are working on a large number of pre-registrants, and receive a lot of email, so it may take a while for us to respond.

I hate to be another trouble (sorry pre-reg peeps!) but my mom sent in her reg 2 months ago in January with a check but no SASE, and her check has yet to be cancelled. So we're worried that her reg didn't get in, and that'd suck. Are there still checks and stuff waitin to be cashed ( I understand if its that behind) or is it possible it got lost?

...or maybe I should just email the reg people. Duh.

and Kylash, I do believe you can register at the door for the entire weekend, it just costs $45 instead of $30 or whatnot.
I almost hadta do that last year when I lost my badge on Sat. NOT fun. >_<

Thats all!

more of the same.

Again with the pre-registration questions.....

For people who registered before February 1... Any pre-registrations we
have received have definitely been processed. If you registered after
February 1, your registration has probably been processed, or is in the
process of being processed. We still have about 200 pre-registrations to
enter into our system, and we have more pre-registrations that have been
processed, but we need to send receipts out (if they included a SASE). If
you want to know if you are pre-registered, the best thing to do is see if
your check has been deposited. But wait until next week if you registered
recently, as we are depositing a large number of checks on Friday. The
goal is to have everyone who registered before March 21 completely
processed by April 2.

For those of you who are wondering why you haven't heard anything from us
when you registered several months or more ago... Did you include a
self-addressed, stamped envelope? If not, then you haven't heard from
us! Think about this, if we sent receipts to everyone who did not include
a SASE, we would have spent several hundred dollars in stamps
alone. --That's money that would have otherwise gone to the convention.
Also, it's not fair to those who followed the directions. (Sorry to be
blunt, but that's the simple truth).

And finally, if you pre-registered, you paid the right amount, and your
check was deposited, you're fine even if you don't get a receipt. Just

make sure you have your photo ID with you when you arrive. (Even if you
have a receipt, you need to bring a photo ID!)

And that should be that.

you dont get a ticket or such back. all you get is a receipt. an they do say to send a SASE. keep in mind i am not sure when ya will get your receipt or such...but i dont think ya have to worry ^^.

as for gettin a "ticket" i dont know what your talkin abou there, but this is my 5th acen an i pre-regged sunday at the con. when i registered...all i got was a lil reciept, the rest you get when ya show up at the con (it is your badge, program an whatever they decide is gonna go in the bag...). in this situation if wasnt pre-regged i woudlnt worry too much at all. the ppl at acen are very honest an workin very hard to best to get pre-reg pppl done...

Self Addressed Stamped Envelope, basically you need to include an envelope with your address and a stamp on it so they can mail you something with no charge to them.
