한국 사람이예요~
Born in Suwon, raised in Dallas. My brother in law labels me as 1.7 generation though haha. I am a cosplayer as well as a noob photographer. Anyone attending A-kon or AWA?? Maybe we can be good friends Or if not we can still be good friends :3 |

Isn't there any interaction in here besides saying that we're korean? Anyways, I'd like to say DarkMoon Kiadara, I love your sugintou cosplay.

Whenever I come in here, it's usually quiet. There's a "cosplay from korean shows" thread in the "other" section. :3 I guess it's because not a lot of Korean (from Korea-land) come here to cos.com to post. They probably use cy-world or minihompy or whatever happens to be "in" at the moment. ^^;; |

@Raenef: Yeah I come in here once in a blue moon to see if anything has changed. I guess there's not alot of Koreans who cosplay in general. I've been checking korean cosplay sites on daum and cyworld but since it's so much of a closeted hobby there that there's not much to see.
Where are you located Raenef? Maybe we could meet up? I'm starting to travel different states for conventions. |

Considering how commercialized Korean culture is (that is, "brand is GOD!" mentality), I'm not surprised to see a lack of ubergeekness or even the over-geeknesss that is cosplay. Those unwanted behaviors are corrected early. XD Though on the other hand, it's funny since DIY is (was?) so big over there...
I'm in the Baltimore/DC/Viriginia area and so go to Katsucon and Otakon. I might go to smaller ones in the area too. Hope to see you around! I still can't go far for cons... ^^;; Y'know, I applied for a job in Houston... but got rejected. (It was for HP so maybe I was out of my league. ^^;; ) |

Ah I know what you mean. It's a love/hate thing with Korea that I have haha. I was THIS close to going to Otakon but decided to cancel out cause a friend of mine didn't want to go (and i never go anywhere without him). I'm going to A-kon and AWA this upcoming year... Anyone going perchance?

Ah yes, I too have the love-hate relationship with Korea. I have a lot of pride in our past but am a little disappointed in our people. ^^;;
I might go to AWA. I was thinking about it but it really depends on my work schedule and how much money I have... ^^;; I do see random people wearing hanboks when I go to otakon... |

People wearing Hanboks really?? I've been wanting to make a Hwang jini style one for ages.
Not all people but a good amount of them are stubborn, prideful, and materialistic. But I do love my country and the rich culture that we have. I have a certain love for sageuk (historical) dramas. |

Sorry for my late reply... anyway, I do too! I also like the shows that show you random stuff. XD And the sitcom Kimchi Cheese Smile is growing on me.
How'd you like Four Gods? (Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi) I found it a little wierd... I think I like Yi San better...

I've heard of it but honestly I haven't been keeping track of the sitcoms and dramas that they are churning out. Isnt that the one where bae yong joon acts in? My favorite drama of all time would have to be "Nae eereum eun Kim Sam Soon" XD Heelarious!
