the term "lion board"

i've been reading japanese cosplay magazine and ppl often said they used this "lion board" in order to make armors and weapons. what is this "lion board" and is this thing selling in america also?? it seems really helpful thing but i don't know what it is... does anyone know what this is?? if anyone knows what this is and knows that it's been selling in america, please tell me the american name for "lion board"... pleeeeaaase??

I don't know much about lion board, but I did a quick googleing and theres few things I think I found out:

1. Lion Board is called Lion Board.
2. Tokyu Hands seems to be the prominent place that sells it.
3. Lion Board seems to be a specific board that Koyo Sangyou Corporation makes.
Lion Board's page:
http://www.koyoweb.com/products/lion...lionboard.html

So... it seems like it's only sold in Japan. Or atleast it seems as though it would be really hard to find it here in America. ^^;;

You seem to be very good with Japanese so you can probably read it, but it seems to be a "Plastic Foam Board." The tutorial site that I pasted below says that "It's easy to cut with scissors and razor, and it is also easy to glue together. Easy to make it round or sharp. Very light and also flexible."

Some Cosplayers site about different boards:
http://gyakuyoga.hobby-web.net/jiten/itajou.html
Lion Board Tutorial Site: http://www.umiu.com/cosplay/const/lionb.html

I probably wasn't much of a help. Good luck!

Oh, and if you can't find Lion Board, there was a site that seemed useful: http://amethyst-angel.com/armormaking_materials.html

Hmm..have you tried finding other cosplaying websites taht are international and do international orders. Some do...so maybe you can order off there...imports from Japan are very normal...especially to U.S on these types of things.

F.Y.I.
Um...you might wanna change your signature too...it's been limited to only 8 lines of full text...just a reminder...don't want anyone to get into trouble! ^_^v

 Oh, Oh.

You do not have to spend much energy to find it.

Telling from my three years of experience in the US, Lion Board is very similar to other stuff. The brand I have been using here is the one called "Foamies Sheets" which I can find in WalMart with little trouble.
Also, from my point of view, you have more good stuff in the US. "WonderFlex" is the material by which I have impressed the most.
