Kindom Hearts II [[Sora Shoes]]

I was planning on buying the shoes, but the only ones I could manage to find were horribly-made, fake looking rubber shoes. X_X;;

Anyone know where I could buy the shoes?

Or..

Can anyone give me some tips on how to make the shoes myself?

well building a shoe over a shoe is probably the best way to do it
using something like styrofoam to build a shape around the original shoe
then after thats all together...pretty much apolster it to look like his shoes

I can vaguely try to explain what I did...

We took the sneakers that were the base. Took wire frame stuff and made the 'bulb' of the shoe (the bulb over his toes) going back towards the heel. We took a paper towel and cut it so that it could be laid flat, or gently laid on the wire frame to make up the 'ball'.

We took pleather and cut it into the shape of the paper towel with some like half inch give. We sewed along the half inch lines, and it came together as a 'bulb'

We then hot glued it all to the shoe.

You can see how they turned out there.

Thanks that helps alot.

For the rest of the shoes, do you just cut out pieces of fabric and paste them on there in the shapes and colors of the sora shoes?

When I finished the pleather-bubble part of the shoe, I created a piece of pleather that wrapped around the back of the shoe and sewed it to the bubble. Then wrapped the whole back of the shoe in blue fabric (since I did anti-sora), put the bubble in place (and stuff with batting to keep the shape if someone hit it/stepped on it), wrapped the new pleather piece around, and hot glued its other side to the bubble.

So in the end, it was the bubble connected to the heel-pleather, wrapping back around to meet the other side of the bubble, with blue fabric underneath.

I also used some more white-plushie-batting stuff around the rim of the shoe to give it more height in the back and that puffy look.

Thanks alot! ^^

Just incase, though, do you know anyone that's selling those shoes? Because I'm horrible at crafts of any kind and I'm prone to destroy things. xPP

Hmm.....wire frame and styrofoam? That doesn't really seem like something that would hold well with all the running around and stuff that cosplayers do at cons.

Some people used Craft sheet foam and cotton batting instead. Also If you wanted to pay for the extra expense you could use upholstery foam since it’s designed to take a beating.

It's only a theory right now, but my sister's going to do Sora's shoes out of some oversized boots, cloth leftover from her costume, hotglue, and a styrafoam ball (one used for planets in mobiles). Like I said, it's only a theory, but it's something to start with, right?

My shoes are almost a year old now, and still going strong.

The wire-frame was ONLY used to create the prototype for the leather I used. The wire-frame did not stay in the final construction.

I'm going to revive this thread, because I'm also looking for Sora shoes for the cosplay I'm planning on doing. But is there some kinda step-by-step tutorial somewhere online? I just saw the prices of Sora's shoes on ebay...I'm not gonna pay 60 bucks for a pair of shoes unless I find $400 on the side of the street!!

do you think that taking the regular shoe and then using the wire thing to make it pop up and then paper mache'ing over the wire thing would work? after it's dry couldn't you just paint over the paper mache' and i think it would look cool.

Making them yourself.... Trust me. BAD IDEA.

They fall apart after the first time and usually if you do shoes over shoes they get too confided to a point where you can rub skin off.

I'd advise against duct tape. Seriously, thats just bad.

If you REALLY want to do them try getting clown shoes they are the same shape as the ones in the game. Cut the side slightly and fit a pair of your own shoes in them. Preferably thin vans the flats, for better comfort or converses.

To Usue fabric to make the designs or patent leather strips.
For the shoes too look like shoes look into getting rubber mats similar to the sole of a shoe and then cutting them to the size of the bottom of the clown shoe.

Use hot glue evenly over the whole area or it will fall apart, so make sure no air bubbles.

For the siding in rubber, I have yet to find it that looks like regular sneakers so I'd go with the rubber like the soles, and cut strips gluing them on. After, you can cut ridges into them if you want.

A girl I met at FanExpo Canada this year went as Sora this year and she made her own shoes and they looked fantastic!

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/ph...4&id=304701380

For the front part of the shoes, you'll never guess what she used.....try and guess....give up?

She used some old bras....I know...genius!

Try and take something like that into consideration.
