Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru, Morning Musume (and their many sub-groups), Maaya Sakamoto... actually, just go to www.japan-a-radio.com (or is it www.japanaradio.com ? Can't remember). They play J-Pop 24-7.

Well, if you like Garbage, a lot of Kokia and Aiwaka Nanase songs can really relate to their music. Also Cocco, Tef Tef, and Olivia. -^-^-

Some of the listed groups aren't female, Yuna Summoner.. ^^;
In addition, I can reccommend "the brilliant green".. Hayashibara Megumi, Okui Masami, hiro.. and Max. A lot of J-pop is dance/pop sounding.. but groups/singers like the brilliant green, Judy and Mary, and Aikawa Nanase might be more to your taste.
