Comiket - Prop Restrictions

Hello all,

I'm really sorry to post what is probably an unnecesary and redundant question, but I just want to be absolutely certain. I'm planning (hoping) to attend this year's Comiket with my boyfriend as Vergil and Lady from Devil May Cry 3. He's really reluctant to wear the costume without a sword (wooden, of course). I've read that there are strict prop restrictions - no greater than 30 cm. Can someone who has been there before confirm this for me? If he wore a simple wooden sword on his belt or something, would they not consider it a prop?

I know, I know, this is a really stupid question, but if someone could give me their thoughts on it, I'd really appreciate it.

Is there anything else I should keep in mind? This is my first time to attend Comiket, and my Japanese level is pretty low, I've only been here four months and hadn't studied Japanese before coming to Japan. Thanks a lot for any answer you can offer.
