Strangely, just today I was thinking of making a thread like this. <_< But I was beaten to it. Ah well.

You know you're a cosplayer when...

- Tiny details on your costume that are the slightest bit wonky drive you nuts.

- You notice infinitesimal differences in particular shades of colours in a costume, and worry about them.

- You spend hours on details that people will most probably not notice at all.

- You stay up until the wee hours of the morning sewing things by hand.

- You have brief amusing in-character conversations with con-friends.

- You have con-friends.

- In said such conversations you call a friend who is four years your elder "Dad" because of the characters you cosplay.

- You practice your character's mannerisms.

- You don't need to practice your character's mannerisms.

- You decide that it'd be really funny if someone came up to you at a con to talk to you, and you did what your character does when he's talked to. (In the game, Lloyd tips his head to the side and leans a hand on one of his sword sheaths.)

- You giggle about things like this even though it's probably only you that finds it funny, and even though people probably wouldn't notice it.

- You consider being mistaken for the opposite gender to be a compliment.

- You look at places outdoors and think 'that'd be a really nice place to take pictures!'
I picture you in the sun, wondering what went wrong
and falling down on your knees, asking for sympathy
and being caught in between all you wish for and all you've seen
and trying to find anything you can feel that you can believe in

Tales of Symphonia : Lloyd Irving (80%) :: Tales of Eternia : Farah Oersted (90%) :: Tales of the Abyss : Luke fon Fabre (25%) :: Tales of Legendia : Senel Coolidge (65%) :: Tales of Destiny : Leon Magnus (0%)

You go back to the "real world" after a con and have to try really hard to remember that men are men and women are women. (For the most part ;P)

You know you are a cosplayer when something like this happens:

Kino*one of my BFs*: OMFG! Reamy! You're bleeding! Your finger is oozing BLOOD! I'll get you a FIRST AID KIT RIGHT AWAY!!!! Don't Follow the LIGHT!!!!
*Kino dashes out of the room to get said first aid kit*
Reamy: Oh...I didn't notice...*sucks on said bleeding finger and continues sewing*

You know you are a cosplayer when you step on three dangerously sharp needles and think nothing of it except:
"At least I didn't find them with my *precious* fingers..."

You know you are a cosplayer when you run up to the Saturday registration line of Anime Weekend ATL and scream "WELCOME TO AWA!!!!" while your friends quickly and swiftly walk away.

ALSO *last one, promise*:

You know you're a cosplayer when your sister threatens *with much force* to strangle you if you don't shut up about the DAMN(!) cosplay you are planning 10 1/2 month before the actual convention.

Costumes Coming up~:
Tsubasa R. Chronicle - Fai 40%
PARADISE KISS - Isabella 0%

"ECC - Everyone Can Cosplay. A bunch of friends sharing a hobbie we all love. No rules, membership, or requirments. Want to come? We'd LOVE to have you. OI. I do that like everytime I go shopping. XDD

You know you're a cosplayer when...

~You buy random things to make props/accessories for costumes you've no intention of making just cause you know you'll never find them again(so guilty...now to get someone to do Queen Ester...)

~You have to remember that coworkers don't really want a run down on your costumes when they ask 'How was your weekend?'

~Nor does your boss....

~You try to ponder how to use 'new' materials, or 'unusual' materials to make a costume.(plastic cross stitch grid is my friend)

~You feel absolutely naked when you are at convention NOT in costume(it's freaky and wrong, I start twitching).

Everyone's already mentioned the following, but they're true true true:

~You have more costumes than normal clothing
~You have a closet for said costumes.
~You have decapitated heads sporting character wigs
~You have more then five of said heads....
~Your local sewing/craft stores recognize you on sight
~The first stop after a new paycheck is the fabric/craft store
~I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back keep me here!~

Sanity Check
Costume list 2009: Finished 17 initially planned :: 15 completed :: 6 moved to next year
Costume list 2010: Started 6 from '09 :: 9 initially planned, now up to 22 total

You know you are a cosplayer when...

People (at cons, IRL, online, wherever!) refer to you by your Cosplay.com name more than your real name. (Or maybe that just means I spend way too much time on this site...)
Comin' out of retirement this summer... Cons: Comic Con Seoul (Aug)

Cosplays in the works: Dark Emma Swan - Once Upon a Time, Fleur Delacour - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

...When the whole point of your visit to NYC is to try and talk your family into going to the fabric/fashion district so you can find pretties.

...When you buy your dress clothing based on whether or not you could use it for a costume.

...When you go shoe shopping with your parents and your first thought is not, "Oh, those are cute for everyday wear," but rather, "OH, THAT IS PERFECT FOR NANA COSPLAY."

You know you're a cosplayer when...
-you're friends know you as your cosplay alias
-you introduce yourself as your cosplay alias
-when looking at your dog you wonder if you could take her as part of you're winry cosplay and put a metal leg on her.
- you're mom doesn't even try to brave you're room any more
-During con season you're mom pushes food through the cat flap on you're door so as not to bother you.
-you have a seasure when people don't recognize you in costume
-you no longer watch TV, you use youtube to get pure anime and pause it on a certain costume to examine it closely.
-you been mistaken for someone of the opposite gender
-you were pleased when you were mistaken for someone of the opposite gender
-people no longer give you strange looks when you wear costumes to school.

You know your a cosplayer:

-When one's inability to pee in a complicated costume for over six hours Is not odd at all. (I've held it in for over 14 hours!)

-The only time you do visit the bathroom in said costume is to fix your makeup.

- When you really DO have to use the bathroom , you find nothing weird about having a friend or two with you in the stall just to 'help you out a little'.
